OK. I came up with this becouse of the Cultural Differences topic Alrik started.
The idea is that we start with one country and name cities in alphabetical order.
When we get to Z, the next one to post has to start with A again. At that point he or she also decides what the next country should be. He or she names another country and a city in that country starting with A.
Becouse it's pretty hard to find cities starting with q, x, y and j in most countries we can exclude them.
I'll start with:

If yes, they are at the south of the country, german descendents(right?), is like you said some of them preserved language and their way of live, at the south the temperature is not so high - even have snow sometimes, preserved too some plants and other things. The south of the country with sure is a place to be visited.

The ö is known in German language as an "Umlaut". The Turkish language has it, too.
Currently I don't know any example in English. Must think.
The lettr before the u is actually a relative to the English th . It's a letter that actually existed in early English but has gone now. It's like a rather soft th, I think.
Edit : Example for ö : In "homew
ork" you have a sound that's nearly like an ö, as far as I can judge it.

Icelandic is the national language.
It has changed very little from the original tongue spoken by the Norse settlers. But English and Danish are widely spoken and understood. Icelandic has two letters of its own, Þ/þ and Ð/ð, which were used in old English. "Þ" is pronounced as "th" in "thing" and "Ð" is pronounced as the "th" in "them".

Zanzibar is an archipel of islands.
The biggest island is named Zanzibar by western people but is really called Unguja. From 1964 on it belongs to Tanzania. But only politically. Zanzibar is seen as a paradise. And Tanzania would love to get their hands on the money tourists bring in.
Zanzibar still has it's own president and parlament.
You can compare it to Australia - England. More or less.

There's no date on the page providing this info... Wonder if it is still valid... "Tabatinga is Brazil's westernmost town on the Amazon River. It's population is around 5,000 and it is continuous with Leticia, Colombia.
