What games are you currently playing right now and for what systems?

Here's what I am playing:
1.Half-Life 2 (PC)
2.Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC)
3.Thief: Deadly Shadows (PC)
4.Divine Divinity (PC)

I need to get some games done so I can start Doom 3 (PC) and the expansion, Doom 3: Ressurection of Evil (PC).
Here's what I'm playing right now:

1. Final Fantasy II (Snes)
2. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64)
3. World of Warcraft (PC)
4. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition (X-Box)
5. Halo 2 (X-Box)

And thats it for now.

Killerzzz

P.S.: Wow, I'm all over the systems! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />
At the moment:
  1. Killer Bunnies (card) – An expandable (not collectable) card game. Fun! FUN! FUN!!!
  2. Moon Tycoon (PC shareware) – Simple, cheap fun. It'll keep you occupied for about a week.
  3. The Moment of Silence (PC) – Very well made government consiracy point-and-click adventure.
Beyond Divinity
Freedom Force vs the Third Reich: really funny & full of fun. doesn't matter what heroes to use, it's the strategy later on that counts. not as crazy difficult as the first. not too taxing on older specs PC. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

World of Warcraft all the time.

Still have lvl 4 or so warrior in GuildWars. Still have, I mean still don't play it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Half played through SWAT - great game, even better the the previous game.

GTA San Andreas, still thinking wheither to get this game. Should be fun, but WoW is still taking 100% of my gaming time.

Warcraft 3-the Forzen Throne, custom game DotA-Allstars. Which means not WC3-FT <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II-The Sith Lords. Still not through it...
And some Champions Leauge 2005 when I feel like it. Waiting for FIFA 2006.

I wonder what RPG to play after KotOR. Since it's a si-fi game (Star Wars ffs!) I feel like trying a more epic old style kind of game again (I'd like to be a cool sword-fighter <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />. My needs are sometimes simple. I'd still like characterinteraction and all that though. But add to those that I want to be cool with a sword...). I've looked a little at Jade Empire. Now I only wonder if it will be released for PC. It feels most good games are released for X-Box first or only...

Übereil
just finished SWAT 4

KOTOR2... been playing it long time now, haven't played it in weeks anymore though.

now going to continue LOTR: BFME

and hopefully GTA: SA one of these weeks.

Sternenschweif [Startrail]
Summoner 1 (why didn't they bring 2 out for the PC ? Same with Drakan ... *sigh* <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> )
Baldur's Gate
dabbling around with Sheep!
Flight of the Amazon Queen (SCUMMVM version)
also on my harddisk : The First Emperor, Lands of Lore I, several LucasArts games, Nox, Cultures, Micro Machines I ...

My problem is my growing distaste for combat oriented games. Problem because there are no more other games ... adventures are very spare and mostly with themes I don't like (horror, conspiracy etc.). I'll buy one day the Westerner and Runaway, but for the Deluxe Version of the latter I need a DVD drive ...

1.Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC)
2.Half-Life 2 (PC)

Oh, I'm also going to start on 'Contra' soon (Nes).

After FF2(Snes) I'll move to FF3(Snes).

After LOZ,OOT(N64) I'll move to LOZ,OOT Master Quest.

I don't think I'll be done ES3(X-Box)or WoW(PC) any time soon <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

dabbling around with Sheep!

Oh, God, that is bad! It's cute and friendly looking, and utterly impossible. And the load times on Playstation are rediculous. Everytime you fail a level, you have to load the main menu, load the save-game menu, load the save-game, load the intro movie, load the level. There's more loading than playtime!

So, anyone want a free copy of Sheep for PS1?
i'm playing the fps; star trek voyager elite force1
one of the better star trek games. but it has it's faults,
nevertheless, i'm beaming myself up to my multifasing solid duranium gaming boot, and boldly go were alot of men already went before!
Grand Theft Auto: SA (Xbox)

and

Halo 2 (Xbox)

I haven't touched a PC game since I completed Half Life 2 - that was over 2 months ago.

Also playing

Advance Wars 2 (GBA)

And

Fire Emblem (GBA)

Sorry for the off topic, but did anyone else who played halo 2 SP find that the 'normal' skill level is too easy, and the next one up (heroic) is too bloody hard!! There's no happy medium! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />
I started Playing Windwaker again last night for some reason...

Other than that Guild Wars is fun

Thanks. I fact, I like this game more or less. It's a bit above the middle, imho, in terems of quality.

The quests are good, but NPCs are sometimes very difficult to find. Some areas look very "empty", but other have quite a lot of folks in it.

The game has many good and bad sides, in that respect.

In an overall view, it's fun (and was definitively the 1 € worth I paid on a flea market for it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> )

When is it from?

2001, the box says.

so how is it, miss catty? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kitty.gif" alt="" /> do love to hear your review as i am anticipating the PC version (if there is such possibility). i loved the previous which was a lot more fun than NFSU (felt like a souped up NFS whatever).
i have nsfu2 for PS2 as well but midnight club 3 is so much better the graphics are the best i've seen in street racing games. It's a long game i'm only 16% through it but i've done loads. I think it's great and i can't wait till Juiced comes out on PS2 so i can get it.

Have you played the original Freedom Force game by Irrational (which EA published)?

I wanna' play the sequel, FF Vs. 3rd Reich.

From Egin:

Half played through SWAT - great game, even better the the previous game.

Irrational rules.

Did any of y'all play Tribes: Vengeance?
Another rockin' Irrational game.

Oh, and I wanna' play System Shock 2, also by Irrational.
Irrational is an awesome developper, I have played all their games and they all are superb. Their best is System Shock 2, and I look forward to its spiritual successor, Bio shock.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> to Irrational!
i don't know about other games by irrational but the Freedom Force games are just incredibly fun. so, MysterD, since u've played the original, u will definitely love the sequel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

more heroes, more super powers, more attributes, the missions are more fun than before; well it's just a heck lot of fun. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> go get it!

@ Catty -> thanks for the reply. i now feel more frustrated than ever waiting for MC3: DE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

And what kind of games are you talking about? And don't tell me Irrational games. Please tell me what kind of games they are too. And to make it clear, anyone who knows may answer.

@ Jang: Nice new ava <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />.

thanks, Ube. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i don't know about the rest of the games MysterD mentioned but i think Tribes: Vengeance has gone free. so u might want to find it, Ube.

about the Freedom Force games, they're something similar to Commandos with more obvious RPG elements such as character development, story progress etc. but bear in mind that this is a strategy game, not RPG. since u have broadband, u should try out the demo.
Here you go ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
All of Irrational's games (except Freedom Force) are first person shooters, though all are quite different from one another.

Their first was System Shock 2, a horror fps with some cool rpg elements. The story is pretty good, and it's full of neat moments. And it's the only game I know with monkeys that throw psychic blasts at you. A classic in my opinion.

Their next fps was Tribes: Vengeance wich was released last october. I really enjoyed the single player part thanks to the fun jetpack-based combat and the superb story. The multiplayer was equally fun thanks again to the jetpacks, it really plays differently than most fps.

Swat 4 is the first tactical shooter I had fun playing, enough said.

Irrational knows how to make great games.
Didn't they make Drakan, too ?
I'm playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" /> ..who said it was easy?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Gothic....... semi-playing.....
DopeWars 2.2........
Nascar Racing 4
House of Death.......
Lots of guitar playing, and dog walking..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
I'll take the dog walking <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
any new guitars, Jurak? can u show us some cool riffs? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

[color:"green"] Jurak: Surfin' with the Green Giant [/color] <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
Today I played Summoner ... and I've experienced one of the hardest "story twists" I've ever learned to see ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

To me, it was as if someone had anticipated the fate of Darth Vader many years before ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

(Well, it's not THAT bad, but in a way ...)

Irrational Games = Game Developer.

Tribes: Vengeance
-------------------
FPS. The third Tribes game in the series, with an actual SP-style campaign to go along w/ the MP, finally! You take the role of different characters in this FPS, all on different sides of a war in the future and in different generations. It rocks.

There are two before this game, which Irrational did not make, which are MP-based -- Starseige: Tribes (aka Tribes 1), and Tribes 2. Tribes 1 is free to download online at Gamespy, since the game is now quite old -- get a free account and get downloading! They released it for free. Tribes 2 was released for free online also, but they are NOT giving away CD Keys anymore -- bummer. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> Tribes 2 is quite cheap, these days in the USA, if you can find it.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft, who has rights to the damn Tribes license, has no plans for a patch for T:V -- or for that matter, the license entirely.

System Shock 2
--------------------
Horror-style FPS/RPG. Hard to find, these days. Might need to try Ebay. Stuck on a spaceship, in which a computer has taken over the entire thing, you are to get off it.

Freedom Force
--------------------
RPG/Strategy. You command a bunch of superheroes in this game to try and save the world from evil, in this campy Silver Age based comic. Published by EA.

The sequel, Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich, was published by Sierra.

Okay, I mixed Surreal with Irrational. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Surreal made Drakan. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Being tired of Diablo II and needing a good PC rpg (also already having played quite a bit of Divine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> ), I went back to Diablo I - Hellfire (the expantion).
So...

I went from...:

1. Final Fantasy II (Snes)
2. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64)
3. World of Warcraft (PC)
4. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition (X-Box)

3. Contra (Nes) (gave up on WoW... for now...)
4. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition (X-Box)
5. Diablo: Hellfire (PC) (finished Halo 2... again)

I know I've been playing the same games for a while, but I work on one at a time.

Hard.
After a week of playing (although I didn't play much), I just got to the third mission today. Possibly tactical shooters aren't my thing, but I do enjoy this game. Planning is based mostly on trial-and-error but you feel great satisfaction once you get a plan that works without your intrusion.
that really u, death ol' boy? abandoning the old self & post count to start anew? very admirable. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

TM Sunrise is great imho, played the demo... must be lots of fun online, but I didn't get it because of the lack of collision detection.

I'm playing LOTR: BFME right now Awsome game !!!
heh finished LOR BFME already.

the rohimerin caverly is a good choice my little hobbit
I know, but not the "normal" cavalary, the Archers are the best imho, esp. against the cave trolls

still got to start the evil campaign... I think i'll enjoy it more <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

5. Diablo: Hellfire (PC)

Now:
1. Final Fantasy II (Snes)
2. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64)
3. Roller Coster Tycoon 2 (PC) (Contra is beaten, and beaten again)
4. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition (X-Box)
5. Diablo: Hellfire (PC)

Yes, same games, same games. But I work on so many at once, none get done. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

Besides, I'm concentrating on Morrowind, and thats such a long game I won't be done for a very, very, very, long time...

DotA, the WC3 custom game.
Champions League, when I feel like it
Baldur's Gate 1. Acually like it. It's a bit old, but the story, and characterinteraction is acually quite good. A pity the journal (and D&D system in general) is so poorlly made. My fighter is going to Nashkel now by the way.

I love point and clickies, even bad ones!! This one is v good, great graphics, but the interface and pathfinding of the character are quite wonky through out.

Also it's so hard! And I mean in an unfair sense. Example, one part you have to use an item in your inventory on another one in the inventory, but you have to use item A on B, you can't use B, on A!!! Don't fig!!

I had to resort to looking at a guide to tell what to do!

I played Serious Sam 2 and Quake 4 on a friends PC and I must say: they LOOK damn good and they're very much fun to play. I am seriously thinking about buying Quake 4.

I've also purchased FATE. It is a VERY fun game, Diablo-clone but who cares, it's good to see and fun to play, what do you need more. The nice extra about it is that you can send your pet to town to have it sell everything in it's inventory. that way you don't have to travel the distance yourself every time, very convenient !! I only go to town to save my game and pick up new quests
I'm currently playing F.E.A.R.

The spookyness does not work for me, but the athmosphere is great, thanks to lightning and sound. Very intense firefights, best action ever. And the AI is the best I've ever seen.
yeah, FEAR sounds good, but a LOT of people complein about the high System requirements, so I'm gonna let it pass for now, maybe when it comes out on budget

Yes, I remember now. Never played it though.
[color:"yellow"] A Little About Tropico...As the newly installed dictator of an obscure Caribbean island, build a path of progress for a nation mired in poverty, civil unrest and infighting. Oh, and uhh… stash a few million in your Swiss bank account just in case you need to take early retirement.

Tropico takes the addictive building-oriented gameplay of hits such as SimCity 3000 and Railroad Tycoon 2, combined with a healthy dose of Latin American political intrigue, and bundles it up in an easy-to-learn, hard to master, utterly addictive package.
[/color]
Yeah, it's the game I acually thought it was (didn't really see Alrik as a greedy dictator though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />), and I acually wanted that game when it came out. Unfortunantelly our computer couln't allow it (it only had ¤GB discspace, and most of it was used up) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />. I'd be happy to try it now though...

Here you Ube's...download the demo and if you like it you have to pay to get the code for the full game, have fun mate.... http://www.playfate.com/ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
I don't get it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />... Where is the demo? And how do you get the game?

Übereil
Ube you plank!!!....Click on "play the game" in the left hand column, then choose which download according to your Internet connection, you won't need the patch because you will be downloading the latest version.
Install from the downloaded file and HEY PRESTO! you have [color:"yellow"] FATE[/color]
Then if you like, you can purchase, you get the 1st 3 levels of the dungeon to do in the demo OK.
P.S. Get a fishing rod as soon as possible and get some fish for your Pet. When given to your Pet it will then metamorphasize into a different creature when needs be.

PC gaming is being phased out of my brain...it would seem!
How's GTA on the PSP?

As for me, I've mostly been playing Everquest 2 and CS:source.
I bought Call of Duty II yesterday and I'm loving it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I was suspicious at first, after reading the review which praised it in a lot of ways, there was talk of some slowdown, and of a diluted GTA experience.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I've barely seen any slowdown or jerkiness. Tiny hints of it when the screen is full of cars and people AND there's smoke or an explosion going on, but it's hardly even noticeable.

Regarding frame rate I'd say its the very same as the Xbox version of San Andreas, because even that slowed down when the screen was cluttered.

Anyway, the game is more like GTA 3 and Vice City, with a couple of San Andreas bits thrown in. The graphics and amount of people, cars, and things to do is right up there with Vice City.

It's actually amazing to see a full 3D city running on a handheld. And the sound and radio stations are all there.

The story seems a bit generic at the moment though. Mafia type guy, doing stuff for the 'family'. Some missions are simple drive around affairs, but there's some decent variety overall in what I've done so far. Acting and cut scenes are just what you'd expect from any version of GTA.
just finished AOE3 a few minutes ago... SWEET game
I couldn't wait any longer and decided to buy GTALCS last saturday. It is a very impressive game! So far I agree with all you said Plow, and I am still shocked to see all this content on a portable console.

Good call...you do have to see it playing to appreciate that the PSP is incredibly powerful for its size. Burnout Legends proved that, GTA just hammers it home.
I started playing Warhammer 40K: D.O.W. yesterday. Like it a lot, AOE3 was better imho, but W40K is a nice timegap-filler until the movies and NFS: Most Wanted are released
I finished Call of Duty 2 today. Some boring levels, some amazing ones. On the whole a great game.
Hello.

I have to make an announcement. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

The community-based unofficial Patch 1.4 for the game "Age of Wonders : Shadow Magic" has been released ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The Patch is about 40 MB big. (Beta version had 39 MB.)

The official announcement in the Heavengames forum can be found here.

The FAQ is here.

A so-called "party-thread" is here.

The main thread accompanying the whole patch production process is here. (Mostly for historical reasons.)

This is the announcement I wanted to post. I was a member of the translation team responsible for the German language. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Alrik

P.S. : In the next days I'll post my raw, uncut versions of my translations in the download section of the AoWHeavengames site - but this is only an informational thing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I'm playing Soldiers: Heroes of World War II again. Amazing game, but very difficult.
ATM I'm playing The movies and I'm gonna pick up NFS:MW tonight

The movies is great, esp. in the beginning, but then after a while some annoyances start to float on the surface, esp. when you want to rearrange your lot. So now i'm going over the 60's and 70's. I hope to reach the end soon so I can can start a sandbox mode game with only the latest technologies and such.

I only hope that NFS:MW wont take TOO much of my time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Rubies of Eventide, a nice free mmorpg with quite nice graphs (for a free game)
I'm just curious: Anyone here ho has played all the Final Fantasy games? Or at least some of them? I was thinking of picking them up (never played a FF game in all my life), but I was curious about which if them was acually worth picking up?

Perhaps not. I guess no one knows an answer to your question.
Come on, we're talking about the most famous console-RPG of all time, and we're on a RPG-site (or a site hosted by a company that creates RPG's at least). Someone's got to know something (more than that his neighbour played 7+9 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />).

Possibly, but I know non of them: I'm not a console player. Perhaps that's why people don't seem to respond.
Sorry Ube havent checked this thread in a while.

In my opinion I would pick up 7 and 10...

I have played 7 - X-2, personally I thought that 8 and 9 were pretty weak...but thats just me. 7 is the default best and I was really impressed with 10. 10-2 was about the most flaming game I have ever played...so stupid.

But yeah other than that I am playing

Ace Combat 5 (PS2)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC)
AOE3 (PC) already beat it.
Civilization 4 (PC) very very addictive

Laterz
7-X2? And 10-2? Have you played any of the previous games by the way? I was thinking of trying the second or third to snes if I could find them...

Übereil
sorry x-2, 10-2 same thing. I think I played the original back in the day on nintendo but I dont really remember it. I think they have remade some for gameboy and I would bet you can find emulators for them as well.
I've got emulators, just gotta find the ROMs. But I found out (trying FF1 to NES, Nintendo emulator) that I've gotta know where the games t´starts to be playable in todays mesures. I kan't take games being TOO unplayable.

Übereil
Never played final fantasy ... it's not my style.
I've heard the stories in the games is supposed to be good. That's why I want to try them out. Besides, I need something more than DotA and school to draw my mind from ruin until NWN2 comes out.

Übereil
A short note about Age of Wonders : Story writer RayB is currently working on some books. I found this rather interesting, because these are seemingly fantasy books, made as so-called "graphical novels".

Description here.
Thanks for the link <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
Alrik, my friend, I absolutely love it that you still talk and think about Age of Wonders on a regular basis.

... hehehe <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
Well, I'm still reading in the community forums of the game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
Now 'm playing Final Fantasy 1 for NES (Nintendoemulator). It's about as sad as it sounds...

Übereil
You might as well play FF1 on the GBA, better graphics and bonus dungeons. It's called Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls and it comes with FF2 as well.
Well, in the last days I made a *huge* data backup of my files, fo I got a lot of space free.

In consequence, I installed

- Knightshift (Once upon a Knight)
- Project Nomands
- Ultima 8
- Gene Machine
- Kinder des Nils (Immortal cities)

just to look how they are.

I discovered by the way, that the readme to Immortal Cities says that younger NVidia drivers can cause texture problems. I've seen them. They also say the "youngest" problem-free driver is 45.23. I installed it, and since then not only Immortal Cities runs good, but also Knightshift.

I'm looking for a patch for Civ III - it has been of the CD-ROM of a gaming magazine in the last months.

The readme file says (in German) that the official site is www.civ3.com

It's in English, but who cares ?

I go to it, look under Ssupport -> Patches

Okay, there are two Patches listed.

And one sentence : "Not compatible with european versions.

WHAT ? Not compatible with european versions ? And no european patches there AT ALL ? THIS IS THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE GAME !!!

ANY site that claims to be an "official" one SHOULD be adressed to ANY country in this world I thought - am I so wrong ? Where is my patch when I can't have it from the OFFICIAL site ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

Now I'm really angry. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

These stupid stupid "marketing specialists" neglecting the presence of everything non-english out there .... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />

Now I'm trying the Gereman publisher ... Atari doesn't even have the game listed ... only through Google I find a page about it. I try to download ... "no such file or directory". Does this mean they have actually REMOVED the Patch ??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

I want to cry out. Loud. Very loud.

To let everyone hear my frustration.

Especially into the faces of those who are responsible for this mess. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

This is what I call "user un-friendly".

If you have QBASIC.EXE on your PC, then it is likely you'll have GORILLA.BAS as well. Try this out if you like the Worms. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

QBASIC is an old interpreter for Basic files in the old DOS times. The command QBASIC GORILLA.BAS should run the game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

According to a site the program/interpreter QBASIC.EXE can still be found at Microsoft in this self-extracting archive : ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/OLDDOS.EXE
The .BAS basic files should - according to the same page - still be found within this self-extracting archive : ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/SUP622.EXE
I've done some programming in QBASIC (in school) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

I play DotA still, and getting better and better <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. A friend told me yesterday I'm probablly the guy he knows who has developed most as a player *proud*.
I allso play FM 2006. The problem (as allways) is that I restart all the time... Which is kinda boring, since I never get further than two leaguegames into the season. I allso feel my player tires too much...

Übereil
Thank you, Alrik. I don't know what an interpreter program is (or rather, does) though. Is GORILLA.BAS an old computer game that came with some exploitation systems or... ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />
@ Fille -> basic is exactly like what its name describes it - basic programming platform which has very very limited capabilities. the first programming language i learnt last time before moving to C was QBasic. it's easy & helps to understand what programming is.

so any file that has BAS as extension is a basic file so when u want to run it, u have to compile it in a basic compiler. it's like running a cpp file in a C++ compiler. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Yes, Janggut is right, although I would've formulated it differently. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

A .BAS "program" is nothing else than a text file containing Basic commands. And "Basic" is the name of the programming language ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" /> So the commands MUST be in this particular programming language in order to be understood by the Interpreter QBASIC.EXE .

There are generally two sorts of programming languages : Interpreted oones and compiled ones. Pascal vor example is normally a compiled programming language, like C++ , for example. Ruby , Perl, Python and Basic are interpreted programming languages. (Although for QBASIC There once existed a compiler by Microsoft.

There are several flavours of Basic : QBasic ist just one of them, made by Microsoft. Dark Basic is one that is a current, different one (even with a compiler), not by Microsoft.
Since there are different flavours, they are a little bit incompatible to one another. You cannot mix, because they use different commands.

So, GORILLA.BAS is nothing than a text file containing the commands for a worms-like game. In order to be run, it needs the interpreter QBASIC.EXE.
The command for the console should look like this :

Code
qbasic.exe gorilla.bas

That's it - as long as you have both in one directory on your harddisk.

QBasic.exe looks a bit like the old DOS editor EDIT.EXE. In fact, edit.exe was once only a subset of qbasic.exe . <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> At the time when both were still shipped with DOS, you could start the editor by writing in the console
Code
QBASIC.EXE /EDITOR
. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

And one last word : [i]These are no windows programs ![i] You can start the QBASIC interpreter by a double-click, but it wouldn't do much except displayx itself, so to say. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> It's like starting an editor.

I hope this is sufficient or now ...

Alrik
Ah... thank you, both! I never tried to "play" into/with programming; not because it doesn't interest me, though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's more the matter to chose what to try first in all I want to try. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> But you guys give me a good starting point.
I bookmarked this and will give it a try once I'm done with my current games.

Hello, everyone. On www.lucasarts.com there is a new poll.

It goes like this : "which one of these classics do you play when the mood strikes ?"

Given choices are :

Armed and Dangerous
Curse of Monkey Island
Full Throttle
Gladius
Grim Fandango
RTX Red Rock
Wrath Unleashed

The choice so far is more than clear : The Curse of Monkey Island has *far* got the most voices !

I do hope that this will be a lesson for LucasArts. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

as for me, i'm playing Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War. surprisingly it's not that bad at all as most RTS nowadays are plain lousy. of course it has taken quite a lot of ideas from popular RTSes as well as previous work done by Relic, such as Battle Realms.

maybe i'll check out the expansion, Winter Assault.
I'm mostly playong NFS:MW, i'm #8 on the blacklist.

I am also playing Ski racing 2006 just for the fun of it; it doesn't require a lot of resources and I get decent framerates.

Also Warhammer 40K is on my PC, but sadly enough the FPS are shamefull

Thank you. How can I do it so that I can log into either the US or Europe?
I think this solution should work:

Create two files. One could be namend as "reamlist-europe.wtf" and the other "reamlise-us.wtf". The contain is of reamlist-europe.wtf: "set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com" and reamlist-us.wtf contains: "set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com". Now you can rename one to reamlist.wtf and play on european or us servers. After you played rename the file back.
the trick will not work.

you will need an EU account to play on the EU servers
Ok, thank you for this information, wazzz. It was a shoot in the dark <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

so is this the EU or US Terenas, Cleglaw.

Awww... shulks. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

Whats funny is that I made the banner from good ole dependible Paintbrush. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> My number one in image editing and everything. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

The motion of the penguin was made from a demo I got a while ago Abrosoft's Fantamorph . Its a real good program for causing simple motions on the outside of pitures (so, the arm of the penguin), stretches, and morphing one picture into another. If you visit the OffTopic thead often, you might have seen the MonaLisa animation I threw there that was one of the program's examples.

But it expired. On that subject, does anyone know how to bypass the expiration of program trial versions? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />

chars: Xanlosch, Dwarf, Roque and Tarlona, Tauri (?), Druid

On the same server you can met Marian (with a lot of chars on both sides).

I believe the name of your server, in english, would be The Silver Hand .

As for another random general thingy of World of Warcraft: I find it funny that they have the file extention .wtf for some things. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

Looking at the list, I also only see Die Silberne Hand. But 'Die Silberne' translated from German would be 'The Silver'. I suppose they just only name it in German since its a German server or something.

Of course, I could just be mistranslating it as my German sucks. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Actually, by Unelf I ment Un-Elf (as in non-elf) and not the french Un Elf (wich would be 'An Elf'. My brother warned me of this misconception, but ohwell. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/freak.gif" alt="" />

I'm actually Horde, Undead. You know... "Un" dead. "Un" elf... I thought it was clever but it didn't work... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />
Again, ohwell. See, I made my undead char look as much like an elvan woman as possible... she just has bones showing and massive claws. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

At this point I'm at level 15, alomost 16. I'm working my way up, and this is my first char. The thing is, I share the spare computer time I have with my two bros, so I don't get much in. Maybe 1 or 2 hours a day. Sometimes less. Meh. Fun Fun! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

The translation is correct, killerzzz. That's not the problem.

I tried yesterday to switch the language and want to access this server where my chars are. But nothing. I think it is not so easy or it doesn't work in this way <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I must warn you, it is a BETA, many people are complaining becouse the many bugs and that they cant play.

just a warning <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Unless it's totally unplayable, I won't mind. Won't play much anyway, my project work is heading towards the "final stage" (think I'll make a thread about it, where I ask the geeks here to update me on the current situation in computer hardware (four-year old book)). It was posible to do it without an account yesterday <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />. Oh well...

its all quite strange yeah. But now some people found out how you can make it offline (and hotseat + lan) work so im actually able to play now, and besides some bugs and a fcked up sound, its nice <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

What copies? It's an open beta, everyone can get it... And the hackerthing could make sense. But thay can just as easilly get the client too, and they won't need a CD-key in order to get their hands on the exe.files.

Anyways, I installed an old classic yesterday: Ultimate Soccer Manager! 98! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

The game is old, but you can auto simulate games, so it runs smooth and fast. Today I started a game with Bolton. Back in 98 they were newly promoted from div 1 (which is called championship nowadays). The formationsystem itself is based on a CM-like squared field, with two levels of defenders (ordinary defenders, D, and attacking defenders AD), three levels of midfielders (defensive DM, ordinary, M, and attacking, AM). We allso have two levels of attackers, forwards and strikers, with forwards being closer to midfield. Your position is based on your attributes, if you're good at passing, you're a M, if you can allso tackle somewhat good, you're a DM, and if you can shoot good you're a AM. Often you have a decided place on the pich (left, central or right, with five being able to play in each level (with D being one level, AD the next, then DM and so on)), but some players can play both left right and central.

Anyway, Bolton has three good attacking defenders, with one being left (Robbie Elliot, now in Newcastle IRRC), one right (Neil Cox, Watford, if he hasn't retired) and one central (Mark Fish, Charlton). This is very well suited for the standard 3-5-2 system the game has. So, I play 3-5-2, since they allso have two decent attackers (the best one being Dean Holsworth, who usually score some 10-15 goals a season). The problem is the midfield. It's based on four normal midfielders (two wingers, two central), and an attacking midfielder in the very center of the pich (perfect for someone like Zidane, or the current Boltonplayer JJ Ochoca). OK, they have kinda bad midfielders. They have two good attacking left wingers (Allan Thompson being the best), but that's about it. So, I scouted the trasnfer list for midfielders. Apart from laying a bid on div 1's second best midfielder, Steve Stone (a good AM right). Div 1 allways negoshiate with premier leaghue clubs. And negoshiateing means they'll accept bids. If the player allso negishiate about contracts, you'll get him. Since he plays in the same country as me (England, if you play in the same country, the chance of wanting to negoshiate increase greatlly) he wanted to negoshiate. So I got him. That's midfielder nr 1. I allso bought Eyal Berkowich (25 year old AM, no decided place on the pich. I used him as the central AM) and Neil Redfearn (32 years old central midfielder fom Barnsley. He's kinda cheap due to his age, and he has good passing/ballcontroll, which is just what I need, a good playmaker). So, now I've allso got a decent midfield.
OK, I play on, when you simplly click past matches, the time flies (both in game and out of it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />). You just check so no injuries appear in the starting 11. You never use subs. You allso keep an eye on the transferlist for possible squadimprovements. I felt like I needed a good striker (since my second striker Nathan Blake isn't that hot, and Holdsworth can't score all our goals), so I checked extra carefull for strikers. But what I found was a goalkeeper, Franchesko Toldo (with 91 out of 99 in keeping, the only value a keeper needs). He acually wanted to negoshiate, so I got him too (nice, three midfielders and a kick-[nocando] keeper!). After a while Michael Owen turned up on the list (he was 17, had great shooting, great pace, great ball controll, and (strange enough) great heading ). He plays in England so he wanted to negoshiate (after a few tries). The funny thing about USM is the transfer list. Anyone can show up here! I've bought Ronaldo (he's the best player in the game) with Boros (who plays in divison 1).
The league was going ok, had a mid placement as a goal, and managed to reach a mid placement. In Aprill I managed to get Darren Hucherby from a free transfer (played for Coventry, 21 years old striker, really fast, with a good shot too, and decent heading/BC on that. And free <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />).
Finnished 14:th in League. Next season, the first thing I did was buying Steve McManaman from a free transfer. Now, this was 98, so he was on the peak of his ability. 26 years old, an AM with no decided place, great passing, good shot, great pace, good heading, good stamina (even though it's should be better, he had iron lungs back then), good at set peaces (superior to anyone in my team), and good ballcontroll. Price like £10 000 000. I got him for free. Walked like a train right through any team, won first four games (includeing a 2-1 victory to Man U, who where England's best team back then). Then I thought I shoud save and quit for that moment. But instead of quit I pressed restart, and the game disapeared <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />!

fable
[b]Weird World: Return to Infinate Space[/b]

I'm slowly getting more and more hooked on this game. You have a space ship and fly from star to star through uncharted space. You have a time limit (10, 20 or 30 years) to discover worlds, collect technology and defeat and commune with aliens. Then you return home and cash in all of your loot for your final score. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes to successfully play a game. There is a lot to discover. I was surprised when some of the "useless" items saved my butt on occasion.

The battle simulator is very nice. While most of the game is turn-based, the battles are real time. There are many ships in the game, several of which can join your cause. An abundance of varied weapons make combat interesting. And the graphics... <drool> There is a large amount of risk management in the game, 1: the time limit restricting your exploration, and 2: deciding which ships to risk in combat.

I paid for the download version yesterday. The 28Mb download comes as an .ISO file, designed to be burnt to a CD. However, you can use something like WinRAR to extract the files to a temporary folder and install the game from there.
Play fable first, then in 8 hours time, when you complete it, play the other one!!

Tee-hee!

Seriously, fable is really good, but really short!
If you're gunna play Fable, make sure you try to get EVERYTHING .

Search every corner for every key, chest, demon door, suit collection, etc.

Once you're done, try to find what you missed on the net. Then you can do all those crazy hidden quests. But make sure you do all you can on your own first though so as not to ruin it.

Get the full experiance (unless you're the type of player who likes to get it done, and get it done <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> ) and it should make it last at least a bit longer. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Killerzzz

P.S.: Is a square a type of rectangle, or is a rectangle a type of square? Think about it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/freak.gif" alt="" />
Yes! Just beat Liverpool with 4-0 in FM as Aston Villa <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />. It was my second game with Villa (since I looked to it that my assistant manager takes care of the so boring pre-season games), and we really tackled them to peaces <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />. We could have scored one or two goals more with a little luck. I wonder if hard tackling is smart in the long run <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />. Probablly not, but if we play like that when we use it, we are really up for some gigant slaying this season <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />.

Hi folks.

Lately I have completed Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Just loved it. (I enyoyed all the series of Tom Fisher's adventures)

Yesterday I have cancelled my subscription to WoW, so my 60 mage and 53 druid are going to have some rest if not retire (I played on Hellscream EU).

Started with Guild Wars. Getting accustomed to it. My inventory is full all the time. Why am I always selling things that I badly need half an hour later.

Still have SWAT4 on my PC. Stuck somewhere in the middle.

Ohh and keeping both PST and Grim Fandango disks close, just in case I am in a mood to start them again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

That's it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

HEF, that is one bloody great game! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> i play the demo every time i have 5 to 10 minuts free at work. super stress reliever & no wonder it won the Game of the Year for Indie Games at GameTunnel, it's extremely addictive. i have to find out how to get me the full version of the game as i just don't have credit card so i can't buy things online. i doubt it's available in stores. maybe i'll get someone to help me out then i'll pay them with cash. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

HEF, if u want, we can always discuss about this game as now i know the two of us play this. heheheh! great to know there's somebody else who enjoys this game as i do.

@ Spick & Egin -> great to see u two back here again! Fable must be a great game. to buy it together with Dungeon Siege II at such low price, u're one lucky englishman, Spick. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> as for u, Egin, hope u're doing great over there. good that u've cancelled WoW so now u have some rest from online gaming. & yet u got yourself into another (Guild Wars). i think u need professional help. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> just joking! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> so u like Splinter Cell games? i think u appreciate games like Ghost Recon as well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

@ Gal -> Legacy of Kain has a very good story but it's part of a bigger story so that means u may have to get other games related to this one to continue in its saga.

Glad to see you janggut <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> As for WoW or GW, it seems I am hopeless (there is another MMO I am affraid to even look at - EVE online, what if I become excited in it as well? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shhh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> I do like space sims)

Splinter Cell is one of my favs among Tom Glancy's games. I haven't played Ghost Recon much, but I have played almost all (if not all) Rainbow Six series, and I enjoyed them much. And from other side I do like sneakers like Thief and DeusEx. Do you play such games too janggut?

Ohh and forgot to mention. One game that I played lately, that impressed me greatly was - Indigo Prophecy aka Fahrenheit. It has it's flaws but, the story, the music and general atmosphere were fantastic.
Reminded me Max Payne a bit.

sadly, Egin, i cannot stand FPS. it's not a matter of preference. rather i always feel nausea coming whenever i see the game screen in FPS especially the movement within 5 minutes. this also means i can never be a pilot too! though i can pilot a Tie Fighter or X-Wing very well! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

as for stealth games, i play Commandos. the first one was very very hard but very very rewarding when u accomplish the missions. the second one is the best as it has good balance of difficulty & fun & also strategy. u can replay the missions in cooperative multiplayer too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> sadly the third one feels like an action game in comparison to the first two.

i can play third person a little. so long as it doesn't have too much of those icky colours then i'll be fine.
Posted By: Egin Re: What Games Are You Currently Playing Thread - 02/02/06 01:02 PM
Yay, Commandos. You have incredible patience mate. I tried to play second Commandos once, but I am not patient enough to go through all those steps with clockwork precision to succeed in a mission. After countless restarts, I think I even completed the first mission <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />
janggut, have you played Desperados ?
haven't played that one, Al. is it any good?

how come, HEF? are they able to keep Esmerelda at bay? dang i hate that conniving b****! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

i sure would love to capture her as i know she would worth lots. u know i peeked in a few files in the demo which are text-based but supposed to be parameters for the game. foudn a few interesting stuff. sadly i cannot find a way to hack the game nor to make it full version (via tampering with the files by editting certain files) since demo is strictly demo. darn it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> can't help it, i just want to tweak that game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

have u tried the earlier version of the game - Stranger Adventure In Space? it's available for PC, Mac, Palm etc. i played the Palm version & it was so so so addictive, which is why i can just jump into Weird Worlds demo easily. the graphics are primitive-looking though compared to the newer Weird Worlds. gameplay-wise, WW is more polished than SAIS.
Desperados is something like Commandos. They made a following game with the same style called "Robin Hood". A "desperados 2" is currently in the works and will be 3D, if I remember correctly.

Desperados , sorry, in German.

No, not yet. I couldn't remember what it was called. But I've now downloaded it. Let's see what it's like...
I read today that a Star Wars Lego game will appear for xbox autumn this year. Nothing more than a scanned article or ad is currently known. Source : TheForce.Net & Star Wars Union.
@ Al -> oh yeah, Robin Hood i remember as i played the demo before. it's very Commandos-like. it was quite a nice demo although the full-version can't be found here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif" alt="" />

as for Desperados 2, maybe it's worth checking out once the demo is out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

@ HEF -> oh yeah! now i will definitely keep those until maybe after i explored every system out there then probably go trade-crazy & collect all the 4-star & 5-star items for high score. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

by the way, have u ever found a 5-star weapon? the best so far is only the 4-star particle vortex cannon. maybe it's not featured in the demo.

No, the Particle Vortex Cannon is definately the best weapon in the game, particularly with manual aiming (hold the mouse button on empty space.) In the other two game modes, Science and Freighter, the value of different item classes are scaled. Ship technology becomes cheaper and lifeforms are worth more.

One more tip, Have you ever taken a Zorg (the guys on the main menu) along in your fleet? Notice anything new about your travel options?

I tried the first game, Strange Adventures in Infinate Space. I wasn't as impressed. The game felt too short and based entirely on the luck of the layout. That demo wouldn't have sold me.

i played the full game of robin hood, it was quite nice, i really liked the combat sustem though it had some bugs...
If you learn a bit German, I could look out and send you the version from here ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
heheheh! thanks, Al. sadly with my schedule, i don't think i have time to learn german. bits of it, yes, but for games, it might be quite deep. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />
Getting on fairly well now with Fable:The lost chapters , One annoying thing is you have to complete each Quest as you have started it, no saving half way through or you will have to restart the quest, and the quests can take a long time, which is something i ain't got!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
Vaporware
i just finishes instaling maxpain2,
let's hope it's a good game, since i never played maxpain1 before..

EDIT: i just got my first installation error..
speaking of first impressions <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

The first might be a bit old, but when it comes to story it rocks. One of the coolset games I've ever played. AND, it will probablly play good on any computer not older than four years <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />.

I am really enjoying my Dungeons and dragons online stormreach beta <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> almost reached lvl 5 now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> (max=10 for now...).

I played WoW for a time too and i really think this game is gonna kick WoW's azz! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/XmasJump.gif" alt="" />

Playing Max Payne 2 at the moment as well, but on the Xbox.

It's too samey after a while, linier and short - but there's a certain fun factor that kept me playing.

I've started playing all my old favourites from the Super Nintendo days again, but on my PSP - there's an incredible SNES Emulator* out there for anyone with a PSP version 2.0 or less.

*I'm playing the games I used to own on cartridge. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
yes but i've found it difficult to follow the "cutscenes" with all those characters i never seen before...
but very nice grafics!

I know. I can't follow those cut scenes either.
I started playing Vampire the Masqerade Bloodlines again yesterday. My brother told me about how his friend had found a way to add backgrounds to his characters (just like Arcanum <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />), and we managed to find out how to do it online. Currentlly infiltrateing the Sabbath warehouse with a Nosferatu with the Leatherfacebackground, which gave me +1 to melee and +1 to potence (so I started with four in melee and three in potence. I'm hard). Unfortunantlly buying humanitypoints cost more, which is a REAL drag since I buy humanitypoints all the time (NOT). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
A bit disapointed though, thought moveing around would be harder, but I really just have to avoid cops, and I'm fine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />.

Thinking of starting a Tremere. Thaumaturgy (or tattarmagi as my brother calls it. Erm... Thaumaturgy sounds nicer <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />) seems cool...

Evil Genius. I wish Elixir Studios hadn't closed so they could produce a better sequel ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
I just started playing Restricted Area. It's sci-fi Diablo, nothing more. A lot of fun though. Currently, I'm frustrated. My mission contact decided to not appear (as the walkthrough said he should) and I can't proceed any further. Time to start again... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> Aside from the bug, it's great fun! You can buy body parts on the black market, and if they're all made by the same company, you get a bonus! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />
Now just got used to the controls of Dungeon Siege 2.
Just got the water vial to clear the supposed plague and found the secret emerald in the elvin shrine. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
Well, i'm on #4 of the Blacklist in Need For Speed: Most Wanted
besides that i'm playing LOTR: BFME2

SOMETIMES crashday (game kinda sucks, but track editing and driving it is fun)

Also Star Wars: Empire At War is on my HDD, but I can't get past mission 2 and it sucks. balancing is WAY wrong and BFME2 also is my fav at the moment
I'm in old RPG mode at the moment -
Final Fantasy 6 and Breath of Fire 3
Trying out DS2 but I am not that thrilled with it thus far...I think I got about this far into the first one before I quit it as well...

Other than that I am trying out Empire Earth 2...it runs a little slow on my computer unfortunately...On a positive note I am going to get promoted this summer and am buying myself a new machine, may even build one.

So yeah, oh and I finished Grandia III...Combat was fantastic, pace was excellent, premise...at least above average but not great, but the characters/dialogue were/was absolutely terrible...for example I am in the middle of trying to save the world but first first I have to go and get some pilot Ive never met to like me...so weak...seriously

Overall it was worth a play through but I sold it back yesterday (for half of what I paid mind you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" /> )
well i bought dungeon and dragons online game with a gift card that was going to expire free woot!, alas i don't like it that much, oh well

tried to rent grandia 3 but it was out, heard the storyline sucked from a guy i sat next to in my japanese culture course

rented tales of legia or something
i was repulsed and turned it back in

picked up where i left off in a novel i was reading and finished it

suppose i could play a first person shooter online but...i rather read games get rathter boring after awhile......NOT

4 DaY CoUnTdOwN TiLl ElDeRsCrOlLs 4 ArRiVeS On StOrEsHeLvEs

4 days left will you be holding a stuffed animal or the game of the gods!!???!? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />
Virgo GIII is worth playing for the combat and premise, but the guy was right, the dialogue was terrible and characters ranged from ok to totally ubelievable.

Oblivion <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Nearing the end of ActI in Dungeon Siege2. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
is it boring yet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ? It became boring for me at the end of act 3 anyway...
What am I currently playing? Oblivion of course!
currently playing FAble....

and ihave my reasons....

Judging from the pics we got from Larian's next gen game.... the playability will be similar... so why not get used to it so long, so i can kick some A$$ when it comes out...
I know you all arent huge fans of MOG's but seeing as I cannot play elder scrolls, and the fact that it is now free to play (and download from fileplanet) I started playing Shadowbane again.

If you want to play let me know.
just finished LOTR: BFME2, nice game but kinda short in a way. the last 2 - 3 missions of a campaign were quite lenghty so that made up for it, mission 7 of the evil campaing for instance took me 2.5 hrs to complete, but boy, never had so much fun

now it's back to NFS: most wanted
yeap good to have Oblivion
especially since i got the AA to start working
I wanna have Oblivion! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

But its gunna be a while before I can get to getting it.
I won't get it for the PC because I have too many other things on the go with that, and adding a huge game like ElderScrolls 4 would be madness. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm gunna wait for a good time to get the X-Box 360, and Oblivion will be the first to enter my inventory.

"Until then, I wait
in torment..."

Nope, thats not a quote (at least I don't think it is) its just some random thing that has little to do with the way I actually feel (just anticipation <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> ) that I thought sounded poetic. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

Killerzzz

P.S.: So, to completely go on subject: World of Warcraft is still the game that is currently draining my life. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> (now if only they'd fix their laggy servers... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" /> )
currently I'm mostly playing Tombraider Legend... Man this game is REALLY good, back to the roots, nice puzzels etc.. LOVE it !!

next to that I still need to finish NFS:Most Wanted and Star Wars: Empire @ War.

I also have Oblivion, but my PC is for from heavy enough to run it properly. consequence, it looks like sh*t but it's fun to play !!
Having been deprived of Oblivion I played Morrowind instead...but I've stopped playing that now because I'm playing.......drum role......

Far Cry, on both the PC and the Xbox, 2 different games.

Got them on budget - the game passed me by when it came out because I didn't have the PC to run it...but now I do and boy doesn't it look pretty!

Especially on the Xbox, lower res of course, but all the shadows and effects are there - if I really was trapped on a tropical island, with guns, mutants, and mercenaries...this is how it would look! hehe
Plow I feel your pain, I too being deprived of Oblivion have turned to an old favorite that is both fun, and a great stress reliever.

Dynasty Warriors 5 for PS2...tons off asswhooping action
Well, currently:

Beyond Divinity
Divine Divinity
Guild Wars
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (DS)
Tomb Raider: Legends (PS2)
Currently Siege Of Avalon, which has most of my attention.
Still Football Manager, DotA and PES. Have allmost finnished Vampire. I've come to a battle where you need ranged weaponds though. My bruja meleewarirrior doesn't like that. Everything he can't slash into pieces useing lvl 5 celerity he tends to avoid (so putting a flying unit as last boss was kind of low of Trokia...).

Have started dabbling a little in Oblivion. Unfortunantlly it feels like my character has a personality of stone (due to the way you speak to pepole, you don't choose what to say, you choose what to talk about).

Übereil
Apparently there's some way to get the boss down, I don't know it since I just blasted it with my thaumaturgy and guns. But don't give up as there's surely a way for you to beat him without using guns, just look around.

As for me, I'm playing Tales of Legendia, Everquest 2 and Oblivion.
Well, I've finished tombraider Legend. The game was A LOT of fun, just a tad too short though. The ending makes clear that a sequel is coming and I think it'll arrive within the year

I'd really like to play that game, but to tell you the truth, I don't really want to spend 50€ on seven hours of gameplay.

Seems to have become the trend for a lot of games today, 7 - 10 hours of gameplay just doesn't cut it!!

Maybe they just want to get their games out on the shelves and don't bother with the length anymore...feckers!
Wait for the budget version then
Yeah, I guess <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
