I don't recall a teacher at level 5 - then again I've never focused on alchemy much. Is there one (I don't think so) or is a book needed to get to level 5 as I believe? If so, where is the book or which quest needs to be solved for it? I bet I've had it in past games and ignored it, but I now have an urge to try a few level 5 permanent potions (I just got a holy water and am due for at least one more - some are also randomly sold by battlefield merchants and I suspect that if I keep zoning in and out eventually some will spawn so all I will need is the cash - not as easy as it was with arrows nerfed by 1.45).

Actually I dont think level 5 exist anymore. The highest you need is level four anyway so,, so sorry no level five permanent potions. Where did you find a holy water potion apart from the one in the spider forest?
I have done alot of jumping in and out to the battlefield merchants but I have never once found a holy water potion (usually have huge luck though I dont think it is supposed to matter). So I think you have to be either very lucky or very persistent if you are to find one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Ariana, the book was in a very early version => 1.1/1.2. And had lvl 5 - then it was changed to lvl 2. Lvl 4 is max now.

And there was no quest - it was in a cupboard in Act4 - sadly, due to BF skills, books are dangerous now. If you have alchemy lvl 4 from Annabelle and then learn this skill from the book => you're on lvl 2 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Thanks.

I guess if level 5 no longer exists that is a good reason for me not finding it <broad grin>.

I picked up a holy water from the hermit. I thought taking the filled holy grail from near the black bishop in act 3 provides another one but perhaps I got confused and that was simply the first time I had noticed the hermit's holy water and the grail just increases mana.

I've never seen a holy water at the merchants - I'm going solely based on what I've read here that there is a very small chance. Perhaps it is higher in later acts (or only available then) - perhaps not <shrugs>.

In any case I might as well use the one I have once I decide what attribute I want more of. Guaranteed that I won't use it for the benefit of that stinking, evil DK.
