Ok. I talked to Edmund. Did the Talking Skull. Found the Shrine.Killed Fergus. Did the Levers.
But i still can not get out.
There is a door marked Blocked with a red flag. And the Death Knight
says we need to find another way out.
There are also several locked doors in that area. Most likely one is the
Kitchen people are talking about.
Do you actually get out of the Prison in the Demo?

try going more in NORTHly direction... you gotta come across an 'arena' somewhere

When you kill the two guards in the room where the door gets blocked, one of them should drop a key. That will unlock a door to the west a couple rooms which leads south. From there, west is the kitchen, and east leads to some guards that have the key for the door to the north. You get a bit farther in the demo, but not out of the prison.

I just got the demo installed last night. Played for a few minutes, found my way to Feargus and actually managed to kill him, but the moment he dropped dead "Game Over" appeared on my screen. I mean, is that all there is? Does the demo end whenever you kill Feargus?

hmmmm, thats wierd. The game isnt supposed to end after you kill Feargus.
Must be a bug.
Also are you sure that you are still alive after you have killed him?

Er... still alive? *gulp* Truth is, I didn't actually look because the big "Game Over" thingy kinda covered the screen. Hmm... embarrassing, but it IS possibly that all three of us biffed it at the same time. I shall try again. Thanks for the reply!

Well, I suppose it would have only taken two... Feargus and either my DK or my character. I keep forgetting that if the DK dies, the game ends as well. Everyone was pretty beaten up by the time the final blows were hit, and both my characters were out of healing potions. I'm just glad to know that there is more to the demo! Heck, it only took me ten minutes to get to Feargus, LOL!

I had that happen to me once, the DK and Fergus dying at the same time. I was pretty sure my DK was going to outlast Fergus, so didn't want to use a healing potion, but he got a lucky hit in just as I finished him off.

Indeed, mystery solved. One of my two characters must have joined Feargus in death the first time, because I've just finished the demo all the way to the pit. I thank all who took time to answer my questions! And I have more. Hehe.

First, there were two doors and a chest in the main prison area that I never found keys to unlock. I put the chest in my inventory and hauled it around, but never was able to unlock it. Did I miss the key somewhere?

Second, when I paid for "lessons" from the didn't-know-he-was-dead tunnel digger, he took my money and I saw the additional resistances listed on my character sheet, but the missle skill did not show up anywhere. Same when I found skillbooks. I used them, but wasn't given the skill. Now that really bites! Did I do something wrong?

You can not unlock that one door to the east. Is the other door, the door between the prison cells and the ares where Fergus is? If so then it can be opened with a lever.

The key for the chest can be found in the arena, when you did not block the cogwheel. Use the ALT key.

The southern guard in the cell block should have dropped 2 keys, which may end up obscured by the chains or steam.

When learning a skill, it will show up in the skills pane, but you need to put points into it before being able to use it.

Correct. Learning a skill from a teacher or a book makes the skill available, but to use the skill you need to put skill points into it.
