ok i found tea in a cellar and im sure it's the buad tea, i did the 2 quest related to the talking tree and now im wondering if i should kill him? i know he gives exp and nice stuff but will i lose reputation? and what about the elves, they will become hostile or no?

I left him alive simply because he doesn't give you any EXP when you do kill him.

I don't remember if you lose reputation when you kill the tree, i don't think so.
The elves will have no reaction and will not blame you.
I did this quest because i like things completely finished.
It's as you want.
And you can save the game, do the quest to see it and then reload if you don't really want to kill the tree.

No reputation loss and if you kill it: 2 statuettes(one is unique) and 2 runes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I didn't get anything when I killed the tree the first time...it simply went poof...no items or anything.

hahah...this coming from the guy that just killed every last dwarf he could in the dwarven halls...and is moving onto the rest of the NPCs in the game.
