I went into the Dwarven Halls and was exploring when I came upon a dwarf that told me there's a monster down in the cave.
When I went into the cave I cleared out the first level of evil dwarves but I couldn't find an exit to another level.
There DOES appear to be another cave opening but it's blocked with rocks that I can't move.
Am I missing something or will that cave open up for me later in the game?

The cave will open later in the game automatically.

Just keep it in mind when you deal with dwarf-oriented quests, it will be open from one point on.

it comes up when you are fixing the problems with the kings brother in the above ground village and the elf that is captured...the whole axe of stone thing...
