this is the install for XP.

1) Does anyone know how to modify the toolbar so I can get a button with "groups"
into which I can then add bookmarks and when clicked will open all those bookmarks on different tabs?

2) Is there a way to get the tab changed to the bottom of the screen?

Any of the brains out there can help me I will most thankful and impressed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm at work answering from my faulty memory--don't have Firefox in front of me.

1. View > show/hide > check next to personal toolbar. You should now have a bbokmark toolbar. Right click on a vacant area or drag and drop bookmarks on to it.

2. You might need an extension to do this. Go to the Firefox extension site for which you should already have a bookmark. Download and install the extension you need. There are tons of nifty ones.

Also poke around your preferences to customize the features.

OK. I gave you some incorrect info. Here is the right stuff.
1. View > toolbars > place a check next to Bookmarks Toolbar.
Right click on the now visible toolbar in a vacant spot. Click manage folder. You'll get a window which is intuitive to use to modify the toolbar, add or remove bookmarks and groups as you see fit.

2. Firefox extensions
Try one extension at a time. Don't put in 2 different extensions which overlap.

Let me know how you like it and how it goes.

Technically it is a 1.0 preview.

hmm nope what I meant was; in Crazybrowser (FE for IE) I just have a title button for groups, which then allows me to select say "NWN" and that is loaded with all the url's that I find interesting for that game and thus loads all those sites on separate tabs at once.

[color:"#3A495A"]NWN[/color] >bioware.com
NWN >nwvault.com
[color:"#3A495A"]NWN[/color] >nwconnections.com

Get my drift? if I use the bookmark tool bar itjust shows individual urls as in bookmarks/favorite <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Unless I am being particularly dense today and am missing it all together <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Even though it's a preview, it works like a charm <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

So, Mea, did my advice help you and how do you like Firefox?

It is easy to do. And several ways to do it.

Right click on bookmark toolbar > manage folder > new folder. Place any bookmarks you want in it manually or drag and drop from the bookmarks drop down menu.

Or Bookmarks > manage bookmarks > copy/paste or drag and drop into whatever folders you want/create in Bookmarks toolbar. These folders will then appear on your toolbar. you can then either navigate to any one site in the folder by clicking on it, or open all of them in tabs by selecting "open in tabs." It really is intuitive and easy to learn. The help button is always useful as well.

Ok got that didn't quite think of the right click function as my mind was set on finding 1 button <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Next question <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Can I move the tabs to the bottom of the screen ?

(OT it is really strange from the beginning of my internet experience I always used netscape from version 2.x till it was sold out to mozzilla and I remember vers 6 IIRC was something woebegone terrible and finally changed to IE, heh after trying various others like opera et al, but now it seems that firefox is the way of the future at least untill it becomes real popular and then a target for our not so beloved H*ckers )

To cut it short ... yes I like firefox but have to loose the "I am spoiled and lazy touch" that I picked up from Crazybrowser <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

As I mentioned before, I think you need an extension to do this. Extensions are great. They permit a high degree of customization to Firefox and Mozilla. While you're looking for one that does what you want, check out Adblock--great extension that takes ads off of webpages permanently and selectively.

Firefox is simply the best browser arround.
By the way, here's the reccomended configuration for adblock:

Code
[Adblock]
/\D(588|468|234|120)x(600?|120|90)\D/
googlesyndication
us.yimg.com/a/
/\/buy_assets\//
/[\W\d_](top|bottom|left|right|)?banner(s|id=|\d|_)[\W\d]/
/[\W\d](double|fast)click[\W\d]/
/[\W\d]click(stream|thrutraffic|thru|xchange)[\W\d]/
/[\W\d]value(stream|xchange|click)[\W\d]/
/[\W\d]dime(xchange|click)[\W\d]/
/[\W\d](onlineads?|ad(banner|click|-?flow|frame|ima?g(es?)?|_id|js|log|serv(er|e)?|stream|_string|s|trix|type|vertisements?|v|vert|xchange)?)[\W\d]/
Backtotop
Viewuser'sprofileSendprivatemessage

Copy and save this text to a text document. Then, after installing AdBlock, go to Tools > AdBlock > Preferences
AdBlock Options > Import Filters

It even blocks GoogleAds.

Hi DATD, how are you. There are a few sites I often utilize whose ads I choose not to block. Since they provide me with services I appreciate I feel that I ought to leave their ads alone. That is why I block ads 1 by 1 on a case by case basis.

Just click on the page outside of the box to scroll with the mouse wheel. Or drag the scroll bar up and down with the mouse. But I bet you already knew those. I don't know if there is an extension that does that.

Really, you must visit that extension page and look at all of them. There are some great little add-on packages. One of them is just right for you. Firefox extensions

I've got a problem When I visit comedy central to view the clips Firefox tells me I don't have Windows media player 9. I do have WMP 9. I found that perhaps it was a setting in registry, instellad the patch but it didn't help.
