There are some pretty powerful daggers later in the game, but in my opinion bows are definitely a better way to go. Why give the enemy any more chance to hit you when you can kill them before they get close? Splitting arrows and poison skill along with extra points in piercing are a great combination.

Don't forget critticals. You WILL get a high % chance to get it. And put some points into point blank in order to do more dmg in close range. It's worth it (espesially if you're planning to clean out the battlefields).

i have my characters set up the same, but i use a sword for my hero, and a spiked club for my DK. both weapons have damage of 60-134. now if the character i am opposing is a high level i put on sneak mode to get the first couple of wacks. most things under level 20 i kill with one wack from each of my characters. if they are above level 20 i use the hammer or spike to stun them. i used to used bows but when u start battling elementals, and the shadows characters they don't work very well. you have to shoot like 10 arrows before they get close to dying.

Oh i LOVE my bows... but you need one melee char IMO. my archer is clever enough to hit the pause button (i dont play games, my characters do ) and choose the appropriate arrow for the appropriate monster.... they do come in handy too, the first time i played, i had 2 melee char.... in act 3 i wanted to pull out my hair with the blood demons.... their hit and run tactics really got me down... playing it again with 1 archer, it was soooo much easier.

I just wish there was a way that they could add the feature of adding shortcut keys to weapons... its handy to swop weapons fast in the game. Maybe include that in a future patch... but DEF including it in future games....

I WOULD BE HAPPY IF THEY HAD SHORTCUT KEYS FOR POTIONS, WHEN IT COMES TO THE BLOOD NIGHTS, I JUST AVOID THEM, YOU CAN JUST SNEAK PAST THEM AND SAVE YOU WEAPONRY IN ACT THREE. WHICH ARROWS HAVE THE MOST EFFECT ON THE BLOODNIGHTS. I KNOW THE SPLITTING ARROWS ONLY TAKE ABOUT 3 DAMAGE FROM THEM.

You can assign hotkeys to potions (and spell selection). Open the potion or primary/secondary skill bar, hover the cursor over the icon of the item you wish to assign a hotkey to, then press one of the function keys (F1-F10,F12).
