Sorry if this is the wrong forum...

I'm just wondering, is there any way that I can run Beyond Divinity windowed? It'd be really cool to have BD running so I can just pull the game up and play whenever I want while doing other stuff in the background.

As far as I know of you cannot run or Windowed. The only way I think you could do what you are wanting to do is to pause game and then alt + tab to go back to windows to do other things. But witht he resources that both gmaes use dont really know if you could do alot. I may be wrong someone else may no more than I do.

Good luck to ya and good gamin.

There's no way to run them windowed. Alt-Tabbing works, but when you return to the game, sound will be slightly corrupted for about five minutes.

Turning sound off ... ?

I see.

I guess it has something to do with the signals for sound - how the soundcard (or on-board chip) is adressed, IRQs ? DMA ? I don't know, but the "stuttering" or "distortedness" sounds to me as if the priority of the signals is set to a lower level than for a non-windowed game.

I remember that for DOS games you could set (right-klick on exe file) several options, for example interrupts, and maybe even DMA. I don't know whether this could be also set for the exe file, but if it could be done, we could be a step further.

I wouldn't recommend using ALT+TAB or the Windows key, why? Because NPC tend to move - thus resulting in some of them being in inaccessible areas.

I only do that if I wish to hop in game and out for a short while - if I want to look something up.

i either pause, access the map, or access the load screen and then alt-tab fairly frequently. usually it's no big deal, but occasionally the game crashes when i do that. always quick save or full save before minimizing to avoid problems.
