Lo all.

Last time i played the game i got to the beginning of act 3 and stopped playing. I now want to start again, and finish the game this time. I've got a few questions:

1. Last time i played i had a DK warrior and a hero wizard. It always annoyed me that i couldn't change the armor of the DK. Is there anything wrong with a DK wizard and a hero warrior?

2. Followup for 1. Is the DKs armor any good compared to what the hero could potentially find and wear? Does the DKs armor depend on any attributes or is it only level dependant?

3. since i'm playing Rome total war nowadays it will probably be a little while before I start BD again (few weeks maybe?). Any indications how long the wait for patch 1.46 will be? Would be nice to play that version...

Thanks for any help.

I think that a DK wizard and a hero warrior is a better choice than a DK warrior and a hero wizard.

I think that the DK armor only depends of the level but i am not sure.
If the DK is weaker than the hero you can give to him the crystal bag and the best charms for his equipment

I did not read anything about the release date of the upcoming patch in the forum.

There is no set date for the release of patch 1.46, but we do know for sure that they are busy with that patch.

The DK's armour improves as he levels up, and as a rule i found his armor to be fairly good. If you want to improve his stats / armor, the easiest is either to give him the crystal bag (as mentioned), or to let him wear enchanted rings etc.

Yes ? Why ? Please explain. I'm curious.

It is my own opinion !
My hero and my DK were both warriors.
When i leveled up i gave them the same stat points but i noticed that my DK was weaker than my hero in the fights.
I guess it is due to the DK's equipment.
I would have prefered that the DK could get the same equipment than the hero.
It's why i think it is better to let the hero be a fighter and the DK a wizard.

i'd guess it's somewhat dependant upon your playing style...but having had a DK warrior and an archer hero, i can't imagine having my DK as the 'distance' fighter.
here's why. personally, i wish(ed) the DK wasn't even there. but he is. i like my hero to DO most of the stuff (killing ) and as an archer (set to aggressive mode) my hero was able to kill (i'm guessing) 75-80% of all the monsters. by having the DK as the pack mule (warrior) he seldom even made it into a battle - i got to kill everything myself.
and while i'm not sure how things would be with a magic user, i'd guees it would be about the same. by using the DK as your 'distance' fighter he'd be gaining most of the killing glory, something i'd not like. i play RPGs so that I can play it, not some NPC.
DK was plenty(!) powerful when required. in fact, the game is too dang easy - so don't worry about that part.
just my opinion.

Probably you are right, it's dependant of the playing style.

I did not feel the same thing than you.
For me the DeathKnight was not a NPC, he was really a main character.
It's surprising but i identified myself with the hero which was a female and with the DK which is a male.
Maybe my personality is very complex.
I loved to play with both characters.

I agree with you the game is not really difficult.

makes sense barta -
i'm just a bit of a purist (or is it loner?!? ). the only RPG i've ever used more than 1 character is baldur's gate(s) where i actually created all three of the characters i used (so i had the same 'feeling' for each).
it's because of this dislike that i truly didn't care for BD as much as DD and why i never use traps, familiars, an npc, summons, monster calls, phantasms, etc. i just like to do it all myself. and DK wasn't 'myself' to me - just an uneccessary pack mule that talked funny.
however, as i said, your point is well taken and quite valid.
the best would be an ability to dismiss the DK character. this way he would be an option, not a requirement.
