Thank you very much for all of your help, my friend! It turned out(after all of the different options that I tried) that it was just the Starforce drivers that needed updating! Who would have thunk it?

I appreciate your help, and look forward to posting more here once I play the game(I will also install Divine Divinity on my computer as well!).

I just installed Divine Divinity today, but I cannot find the manual(I made a thread about this in the Divine Divinity sub-forum). Is there too much of a difference between the two games, or would I be able to get the gist of Divine Divinity through the Beyond Divinity manual?

There are a lot of similarities between the DD and BD in terms of gameplay (though the skill system was changed and stats modified), so you should be able to fairly easily adapt to one game if you are familiar with the other. However, there is a pdf version of the DD manual, which I posted a link to in your other topic.
