For simple cropping / re-sizing / compressing, try IrfanView or XnView, otherwise;

graphics programs, for editing screen shots - there is a second set of program reviews in a reply to the original post

well I am with Raze, Irfanview is by far the quickest and easiest to use for simple picture manipulation ... else try a trial copy of Adobe photoshop <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I'm using "image resizer", it's a powertoy from microsoft. VERY easy in use (just select ALL the files you want to resize in explorer), right click on them en select resize. then select the size you want (640*480, 800*600 or 1024*768) and GO
The program makes copies of the original files (though you can choose to resize the original files)

resizing in less than a minute.

just google for "powertoy image resizer"

I use IrfanView, too.

irfanview is WAY to heavy if it's only for resizing.

It's a good swiss knife for me.

Okay, if you need a single-purpose program/software, then it's way too complex ...

Ditto here! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

And it's not "complex", or too "heavy"

easy menus to follow,
easy to use
and a multitude of file extensions to save as...
simple as 1,2,3... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/alien.gif" alt="" />
