I was wondering if when a stat or item says it boost regeneration does it mean for both health and mana or just health?

OT: I just wanted to say I was one of the people who didn't really like Beyond Divinity when it came out (loved DD though) and that + the fact that it had starforce caused me never to get even an hour of play in. After hearing that Larian's newest patch removed starforce I decided to give it another chance and now I'm loving it. I'm not sure why I didn't like it before- maybe it was the bugs or just the control (which is still a problem but I've gotten over it) but I'm having a blast now It's also so convenient being able to play a game and not have to worry about keeping CD's around. Besides some SNES roms I always buy my games and its annoying having to look for CD cracks for games I paid for. =x

Anyway, can't wait for DD 2! Oh and if possible make it available on Steam for 10x the awesome!

Hit point recovery is based on regeneration; mana recovery is based partly on regeneration but mostly on intelligence. The math appendix in the Beyond Divinity Strategy Guide describes the effects of the primary stats, among other things.

Thanks for your help and for the welcome! I actually had a login for here quite a while ago (2003-2004 I think) but I forgot the password and am not even sure what the username was

Another thing I was wondering, does evasion just help you evade from physical attacks or magic as well?

Good question; I have not tested this. I would guess instant magical attacks or area effect spells may ignore evasion, but in general it should probably be a factor with magical attacks.
In any case, given reasonable resistances, I never noticed that I was taking significantly more damage from magical attacks than physical (other than when outnumbered by mages or when fighting a higher than usual level opponent using magic).

Thanks. ^^ I have another question :P Is it true that the enemies in this game scale to match your level? If so it seems kinda pointless to go to Battlefields unless you want to just use the merchants or if you're just in the mood to kill stuff.

But then again, they can get tedious at times, so I wouldn't mind having a reason to skip them. I was hoping however to be able to get stupidly powerful. I hate when enemies scale to your level

I don't think so, but it's long ago since I played the game.

Opponents don't scale according to your level. I just hex edited a new game and being level 2 or 100 made no difference to opponent levels the couple areas I checked (first cell block, start of citadel, start of act 2). There could be certain opponents that adjust to your level, but I have not noticed this, and don't recall it being mentioned in the forum.

I only used the BF for the merchants, in part to prove the dungeons were optional (there was some complaining when the game first came out that there were not enough skill points and it was too hard if you didn't level up in the BF).

But is it a good test of whether it's feasable if it's one of the resident 'Divinity Experts' that does the test?

Well, fortunately for the integrity of the test, others have since duplicated the result.
