Ah, I guess I have misunderstood the term "Maximum date range". OK, it works like you described - which is not the easiest way but anyway.

Another thing bothering me is this:
You have the main topic title... and you have the single post title. If you search for something, the results are displayed by the post title - which I think is not really good. For instance, we have very big threads in the German chat section about cinema, TV and hollywood with quite good topic titles. But if you search for certain keywords, you get results in all three threads - and don't know which one is in which one because the post title is displayed.... which is being changed almost with every new post.

While I know this is the "benefit" of a threaded forum, I think it would be very helpful if the main topic title was displayed as well somehow... since most people I guess are using the flat view.

I liked the old titles, and I think having alignments was good because then, you'd know who you were dealing with when it came to controversial subjects. frown BTW, I kind of liked being a dragon (what's my username anyway?) and I couldn't help noticing some users managed to keep their old titles (Ancient Dragon, for instance) but most couldn't.

I'm very much liking the new forum software, especially the Watched Forum list. It makes finding new posts a lot easier. One issue I've had though is it is very particular about my firewall settings. I had to play around a while before it accepted that I wasn't from an invalid host.

We have finished up the redirect scripts, so old posts should automatically link to the new location.
Concerning other requests/remarks: please have some patience, we do have other tasks to do, like... developing a game...

To give feedback to some of your questions / remarks:

-yes, the old smilies will be back
-the small image of Divine Divinity will be up pretty soon
-we'll have a look at the classes and alignments (no promises but we'll try)
-if you prefer a darker look: do the following

1/ Go to "My stuff"
2/ Click "My preference"
3/ Under "Your preferred style sheet", click the darker version (=ubbthreads-dark)

You might want to have a look at the faq, it answers many of your questions:

When I try to change my signature (By taking out the 'please click the banner' part, as it's jamming the banner up against the side) I keep getting 'Your signature is too long'. I'm not sure why this is happening. Please advise.

There is a 100 character limit on signatures; the link to your site and the link to the image add up to more than that (then there is the UBB or HTML code on top of that).

Something odd I've noticed is that the new forums display wider than my screen resolution. What I mean is that on every single page of this forums I've looked at, a portion of the page is cut off on the right side of my web browser window, visible only if I use the horizontal scroll bar (which then makes part of the left side of the page cut off).

If it helps, I use Internet Explorer set to be fullscreen, and my desktop has a 1024 by 768 resolution.

Do you have Firefox installed? If so, could you please check the forum in that browser, with the same screen resolution?

Click on 'My Stuff', then 'My Preferences' and under 'Your preferred stylesheet' switch to 'unnthreads_stock' to switch back to the light blue format.

The 'stock' stylesheet should probably be renamed to something a little more descriptive, such as 'light_blue'.
