Anyone know where I can find a item editor or a character/hero editor that can do inventory?

How are trainers/editors made?

I imagine it takes a fair amount of programming skill.
Of course any knowledge/skill in that area puts you well ahead of me. Might as well be an alien language.

I found this trainer maker kit, but I can't make heads or tails of it.

I have not seen any item editors for D2:ED (or DKS), or any save editors period. People have mentioned using Cheatengine for stats / level / god mode, and IIRC there are trainers for that type of thing, as well. Editors modify data in the save file, trainers modify data in RAM that the game is using.

You can use the Developer Mode in the Divinity 2 Developer's Cut release to give yourself equipment or charms / enchantment formula, but AFAIK you can not otherwise create or modify equipment.
