As Swen mentioned at his blog today:
Quote:

You see, in our minds Divinity:Original Sin is an adventure that runs on one version of our shiny new RPG engine, an engine that btw is in dire need of a cool name.

Zo!
Lets come up with some.
First, the most obvious suggestion, of course:

Divinity Kit.
or,
Divinity -... something (editor, engine, etc)

But, maybe they want to expand the engine beyond..eh.. Divinity games.
Therefore, another very obvious idea:

Dragon kit.

That does sound cool but, maybe a bit too generic, since Dragons arent exactly invented by Larian studios or their original feature. Then again, what is completely original today?

Anyway, these are the two most obvious ideas that come to mind. Just wanted to throw those out.

Any other ideas?

Since I assume they're going to use this for non-Divinity games too, I'm guessing they're looking for something generic, so:

  • Weresheep Construction Set
  • LarK (short for Larian Kit)

A lark is also a bird. You could make interesting allusions to The Lark Ascending, which is both an English poem and a beautiful piece of music written by Ralph Vaughan Williams. You know, the toolset that will help modders to reach new heights. smile

Remember guys, it has to sound cool.
And if it doesnt sound cool to you then... it probably isnt.
And it should be as simple as it can be.

I really like LarK. The only problem is people will call it the LarK Kit, which is really like saying Larian Kit Kit.

Weresheep Construction Set could be shortened to the WCS.

I like the Dragon-theme.
As for originality I suck so...

Dragon Knight kit
Total/Dragon Commander Tool
Flame Saga Development Tool
Reborn From Flames Kit

Yeah, I suck... I'll stop...

I came to suggest the Dragon Engine as well.

I think any Divinity reference in its name should be avoided. Dragon, on the other hand, is a reminder of its origins as well as more neutral though themed and mind-blowingly badass sounding.

imo. laugh
