Hello All,

So i've been chunking through this game - one thing I love about it is its non-linear nature, and the freedom to explore the world at large. However, the drawback to this double-edge sword is that i'm not quite sure when i should do certain quests, visit certain areas, etc. I'm not sure that it matters in most cases, though i'm afraid of breaking quests by doing something/visiting places before i should be doing so.

With the game i'm playing now, i'm a level 29 female warrior/archer, and just entered Stormfist castle (i think i may have waited a little two long for it)

Here’s the general progression of my game with places I’ve visited and thing I’ve done
Aleroth (obviously!)
Barrack’s quests for Mitox – hunting orcs
Archer’s guild
Farmlands – did all the quests
Cursed Abbey
Dwarven Village – didn’t get any quests there
Ars Magiana – did all the quests
Poor section
Verdistis – only a couple of things completed
Dark Forest – did a chunk of this section, but not everything – haven’t entered elven village or dwarf halls, haven’t dealt with war yet
Stormfist Castle – just entered b/c i had heard that i should wait to go into it, but i wasn't sure how long that, and to what level my pc, should be

Obviously, this doesn’t include the huge amount of wandering that I’ve done, and the number of side-quests completed. And as can be seen, some parts seem to me as out of order, e.g., I finally dealt with the poor section later then I probably should have, and it seemed to take me forever to finally get to the market in Ars Magiana

Anyway, the reason for this post is to see how other people go about running through the game… I’m planning to start over with a melee character, a Tank if you will, and wanted to refine my progression through the quests/places. I am specifically concerned with the major points in the dark forest, and whether things there need to be handled prior to or after entering stormfist castle

And feedback would be really cool
Thanks

thats whats great about the game. its always differant, no matter how many times played. this allows it to keep the player interested by doing things differant everytime.
when it comes to waiting to enter stormfist castle, it doesnt really matter how long you wait. you can go in right away if you choose. as long as you feel that your charactor has what it takes to get through.
dont worry about doing things out of order and breaking quests. if it happens, it happens. and besides, i dont think it is possible to break the neccesary quests to beat the game. only unimportant side-quests can be broke.
i just play as if it is real life. im not sure what il do next. whatever is conveinent.

Nothing in the Dark Forest needs to be done before going to the castle, though you can do much of it before (there are quests you can only get after entering the castle).

When left the castle, I miss the Sheld of Dragon and can't complete the Dragon Armo, how can I return to the castle. I have the dragon heart gem and the Silver Dragon Mail, how can I enchanted that gem into the mail ???

You can get back into the castle by using the Teleport Stones. Stand next the entrance to Stormfist Castle and drag and drop one of the Teleport Stones as far as you can into Stormfist castle's interior. now use the Teleport stones and you will be able to access the castle interior.

To repair the Breastplate of the Dragon Armor set just take the Gem and the Breastplate to Grischa, the Dwarven Blacksmith in the Dwarven Halls.

Just in case you're confusing the silver breastplate with the dragon armor, the dragon breastplate is not the one that says, "this armor could be something really special if the right enchantment were used"...
I'm only saying this because you called the dragon armor "silver". If you actually have the dragon armor (acquired from Sir Patrick), just ignore my rambling.

You can also just run into the castle. After you are stopped, click inside again immediately after the conversation ends; they will not be fast enough to stop you a second time.

Oh,Mr.Fix, I never think it before, let me try. By the way, flixerflax told me about the breastplate says "this armor could be something really special if the right enchantment were used"... what is the "right enchanment" ? And the real dragon armo, it's belong to Sir Patrick ? Thank all of you, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

For the silver armour, the right enchantment is described here;
Larian/Silver armour-screenie-spoiler

The dwarven king will tell you about the dragon breastplate after you have done the stone axe quest, after which you will be able to get it from Sir Patrick.

Did you bring him both the axe and the letter? I don't recall which triggers the dragon armour speech option, or if you need both.
spoiler: The letter to Gregor [color:"#3A495A"]is in the far north east room on the 2nd level of the mines[/color] (highlight the text to read).
