Has anyone found Beast's hat after escaping the Merryweather?

It was a nice hat, and I want it back. I took Beast on a tour of the shoreline, and couldn't find it anywhere.

I've been told that it does show back up later, off of the island.

But since I'll be at least level 8, by that time it'll need a stat boost (it has nice stats, but not super-overpowered ones). Hopefully it'll get one.

Thanks for the update, I was hoping to get it back as well!
