Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - General Skill points question

I am looking at the different skills I can put points into. Lets say there is a combat skill that I only need 3 points in to get the spells I want, is there any reason to go above 3 points into that skill, is there an advantage in going over 3 points?

For the stat that comes with it.

Like Warfare make all physical deal much more damage so anyone planning on dealing physical damage should have it maxed.
