Hi All,

Here is another complaint about the obscene amount of scaling and stat bloat that occurs later game.

First issue: in an 'open world' area like Reaper's Cove, there is a large variance in levels required to do various challenges. As a result, you can often end up being effectively one shot by creatures only a couple of levels above you. This doesn't feel right, there should be some ways to outsmart very high level mobs, but in the end the burst is just too high for your wee armour to withstand. I understand you shouldnt be winning higher level fights, but it is just obscene the variance. It works the other way, when you do a subquest that youve outgrown by a few levels.... way too easy.

Second issue: For example: Im level 14 - I just found, or already have a level 12 unique or legendary item. Too bad, that level 13 or 14 uncommon or common is going to be better. Or hey... ive just found some awesome equipment and im very happy about it. 2 hours later, im levelled up again and my equipment is now obsolete. All my joy and happiness is gone.

Suggested fix: Could we please have some sort of system where gear hardly scales at all, but characters simply get a bigger multiplier out of it based on their level and skills/attributes? I want a system where I find that yellow gold or deep purple item, and I can hang onto it, cherish it, love it, only up until the point a better suited or more rare item comes along.

Please Larian - I dont want to throw away MY PRECIOUS.

Re: Arena
Larian please make it so we can import our characters we built in game into the arena, with our current equipment, so we can face off against similar people. I want to be able to showcase MY PRECIOUS GEAR and character builds against others.

Totally aggree!

1 level up makes my whole gear "useless".
You totally loose reference to your items. I can't remember one name of a unique or epic, or legendary item I found, because it's obsolete a few minutes later.
I spent more time managing items in my inventory than playing the game.

To counter this I use "Reduced Number Bloat", which makes it a lot better! but I already tend toDnD like scaling... But haven't tried it though.

Moderate Scaling: D:OS EE-like numbers, hopefully achieving vitality in the 1000s by end game (12 +16% vitality per level)

Reduced Number Bloat: Massively reduces numbers, down to about 500 base vitality at level 20 (10 + 10% vitality per level)

DND-like Scaling: Even more massive reduction numbers, granting 4 + 4% vitality per level, leading to around 200 vitality by level 20 (I think).

No Scaling: Vitality increases by virtually nothing on level up. It also virtually eliminates the penalty for equipping high level weapons. It definitely makes for a very different experience, where level difference is mostly a non-factor, which is pretty interesting.
