Is there any way one can fade in and out a model, so that it doesn't spontaneously appear?

If the model has some specific sort of material that responds to the color / brightness values in the Color component, then you may be able to fade it that way. I haven't quite figured out the correlation between the material editor and that component though (specifically how the color value can make a material cover more of the model height-wise, or what nodes would need to exist for it to use the color component's color value to fade it).

What I typically do instead is manipulate/animate the scale, to have it quickly appear that way, or mask it appearing with some sort of smoke.

Thank you for the response, I'll be trying it out later tonight/today.

Have to say that I've thought of the scaling version aswell making it fade like that in, it looked okayish to say the least. Might post further on basing on how experimentation goes with the effect editor.

If I get results that are notable, I'll be sure to edit the post.
