Hi all,

As you can imagine we are following these threads very closely.

We've seen quite a lot of useful feedback so far and integrated that in a patch which we'll in the next couple of days. I can't say exactly when as that depends on testing, but it should be very soon.

The patch addresses most of the issues we've seen in the technical support thread as well as some of the gripes some of you have been having with the game e.g things like regeneration of items for the traders and the quality of the stuff they have.

Lar

hello

I would like to give a quick reminder to a post of mine in the technical section
about a bug i just discovered... > making you unable to complete main quest
so i think its worth taking this one into account (not only for myself but so that other ppl dont have the same problem)

the thread :

Although it's probably impossible now, I would really like it if the melee skill paths could be changed from Slashing, Piercing, Shadow, Bone etc into Swords, Mace, Axe, Spear, Staff etc. It would make a warriors life so much more entertaining when they don't have to worry that the amazing shadow sword is worthless cause it uses different skills to a Claymore. Alternatively could the money spent unlearning skills go somewhere, to a merchant perhaps, so it's possible to reclaim it.

Thanks for looking into a new patch regardless.

Just a sidenote : You as the player don't know what a shadow sword is, but not neccessarily the Character. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

The Character might probably know int his Universe what "shadow damage" is. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

That's all cool <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just received the game from Jester, curiously it's the game that was out of stock that arrived and not the fan pack that was not out of stock
Does it mean i wont receive the Fan Pack, i fear it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

Hmmm i am not sure i'll be able to wait patch to come <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Just go ahead and play it, I even finished the game with a version lower than 1.32 and the only problem I had were a few subquests that remained "unfinished" in my quest log.

When I read the forum I would imagine the game is a big bug... However I could finish it without any big problems.

Well it looked like a sword and swung like a sword so I figure it would use the same skill set as a Sword. This goes extra for a set of 4 elemental sword I found in act 2. They all need a different skill to uses then a regular sword despite looking like a sword.

If a club made from a thighbone does bone damage and needs bone skill, why doesn't a wooden club do wooden damage and needs wood skill. Perhaps the Morning Star needs Metal skill and does Metal damage! I can understand the technical reason for doing it because keying a skill to a damage type to a damage resistance is the easy why to do it. Games wise it makes no sense though. Ideally a skill would be keyed to a weapon type and the weapon would do a mixture of damage, so the shadow sword would do half slashing and half shadow and a normal sword would do just slashing.

Its not really a matter of being able to finish the game though is it? Its about being able to fully emerse yourself in a game taking out of it all it has to offer. If some things are unavailable to you and you don't know whether you are doing somthing wrong or its the bugs in it, it can be very frustrating. I commend Larian for there continued efforts to fix these issues but why do companys always have a sell now fix later atittude? Don't they use testers anymore? As I said at least Larian are sticking with the product and responding quickly to users issues but I'm sure you get my point.

At least I tried dammit! At least I did that much.

Alright I expressed myself wrongly <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The only bugs I had were some quests that did not go away in my quest log, I did get the xp reward though, except for one quest. So that one quest couldn't stop me from playing on, it was only a subquest anyway <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

But I fully understand if you have a story-bug it's no fun, I did not have those however.

that's funny of you to say ....i already have the first patch

but i don't have the game yet either..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />

should have it by Sunday tho! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

@Lar....will you still need to install the first patch, and then the second one
or will the second patch cover everything that was in the first patch?

just to be clear...

Lynch, I'm sure the saves will work. We already had 3-4 patches in the German version and all worked.
