i bought this game thinking it would be awesome, but its not that good at the moment. i'm stuck inside and beginging to think i am never going to get outside. (oh god i hope i get outside because i hate dungeons that last forever.) i have got to the point where you join the citadel gaurds after the deathknight patrol thing and am now stuck. i cant find the armoury or the exit and i keep dying from traps. can someone help me to get out of this endless dungeon of boredom so i can go kill something other than skeltons and death knights or gaurds.....

Did you give one of your party members at least a point in trap detection? That should help. And what difficulty setting did you try, at start?

Thor,

Hang in there amigo... you are a good ways through the dungeon now and once you do exit the Citadel get ready for lots of eye-candy There should be sufficient help already listed in this section of the board to get you through the Citadel.

I found this link on these MBs

The maps are fairly useful if you are stuck

As far as traps go, instead of investing a point in trap detection, I prefer to just use my doll to scout out trapped areas. Traps dont' seem to be thrown about all over ina game.. just in certain areas. Once you get to one of these it only takes a few minutes (mostly waiting for your doll to resummon after dying to a trap) to clear out a room or corridor.

I kind of agree with you on the dungeon thing. I hope that later acts are more open. I had really liked that aspect of divine divinity.

I too have the feeling that the dungeon is endless. Im in the citadel now so i should get out of it pretty soon. Remember that very first dungeon u had to play in to cure the wizard...i spent days in there, thinking it would never end. was actually my first rpg, it was even my first pc game. I actually thought the game didnt go any further than the starting town and the dungeon. I was unaware of the other towns. U can imagine my surprise when i got out of the dungeon and the starting town and saw the true vastness of the game

i am doing it on hardcore.

i didnt think the divinity one was hard because it was very linear. also you didnt actualy have to do it straight away so that was a bonus.

i prefer games with a more outside feel with the odd one or two large dungeons and lots of small ones. it gives you more freedom.

By divinity one, do you mean Divine Divinity? Because if so, I suspect you mean non-linear. The game had a profusion of quests available nearly all the time, creating a real sense of being able to do anything.

If you find it long, you have to know Act1 was bigger in his first versions

i think that possibly english isnt your first language. i mean that the Divnine Divinity initial dungeon was not that long but it was a linear dungeon.

By non-linear I think he's refering to the game as a whole. Divine Divinity was almost as non-linear as, say Fallout/Fallout 2, or even Morrowind.

Really? Fascinating! What led you to that conclusion? Because I would presume, based on your writing:

i didnt think the divinity one was hard because it was very linear.

...that my correction about its non-linearity was warranted. It may have slipped your awareness that when you replied to me:

i mean that the Divnine Divinity initial dungeon was not that long but it was a linear dungeon.

...you weren't writing the same thing. Sure, the initial dungeon was linear, but once you cleared the first, very small part of Divine Divinity, you entered a bold, new, pretty damn non-linear world.

Do you really think pointing out that english may not be his/her first language is an insult? If English isn't his/her first language then he/she gets bonus intelligence points in my book.
