bastages!
oh well, as long as i'm here, a few more general questions if you good folk don't mind.
do you get the teleporter stones in act i? holy maloney it's a long way from the bf dungeons back to the traders. i'm thinking of rejoining the main story and finishing the bf later just to get them.
i take it once you leave an act, you can no longer access that bf. but can you get back to previous acts maps? i'm looking to store some gear somewhere, but don't want to lose everything if i move forward in the story without loading up all my crap first.
what determines duration of summon dolls? one of the times i summoned the first one, he hung around until he got caught on the wrong side of a wall (with the dk). when i reloaded, the summon doll disappeared and whenever i resummon (still on the same level) he disappears after a while.
whenever you resummon, they still had all the gear from before, right?
thanks again for all the help so far....
I think I can give you a little input on how to store those wonderful items that any devout packrat cannot drop. What I do is add a skillpoint or two to Summoning Dolls upgrades. Then I summon the doll, level it up as high as I can get it with the skillpoints it comes with (4 in the beginning plus however many your character used). I put as many points as I can in strength and constitution (in the summoning doll itself) and use it as a pack mule. That way I only have to put the game on pause, summon the doll, add or take whatever item I want, close the summoning doll and I'm back questing, looting and fighting again. In Act 1, you get the first doll. I was able to get it up to a level 11. When you first get the doll and summon it, they are allotted 4 skillpoints. If all you plan to do is use the 1st doll as a mule, put all 4 skillpoints in 'Summoning Doll upgrades) and you end up with 40 points to spread out in strength, agility, constitution, intelligence, survival, etc. Again, if all you're going to do is use it as a pack mule, beef up your strenth and constitution as high as it can go. That way, the summoning doll can hold a lot of weight.
If you want to use your summoning doll to fight, it's wise to get one of your party members skilled in "Summoning Doll Radius". That way, you can increase the doll's radius allowing it to walk further in any given area. I was at a level 26, 2 summoning dolls, one used as a pack mule, the other as a party member. I'd summon both, toss unwanted items into the one I use as a mule, and then 'dismiss' him and go about fighting with my other summoning doll and DK.
And I know what you mean when you're out in a BF dungeon, you're on the 2nd floor and encumbered. It's a pain in the neck to return to that exact spot. There are a lot of times early on in the game when I wish I had one of those teleport pyramids. Without them you have to stop what you're doing, leave the BF area, transport back to the main quest area, then back to the BF which drops you off at the traders. You then have to run all the way back to whatever dungeon you were in to that exact same spot. That is if you're as obsessed about not 'missing a thing' in the game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I also hate the thought of leaving one pixel dark in the game out of fear that might hold an item that's vital to the game or holds a valuable item that I could turn in for $$.
Have fun and enjoy the game, Chud!
