"For every light, there is a shadow."

I actually don't know where I heard this quote, or what is it's origin.
I just think its meaningful. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Like, its not only true with actual light and dark, but it can also refer to the balance of good and evil. I really like this one.

If anyone can tell me where its comes from, that would be cool. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My old boss who has since separated from the AF had this hanging in his office when he left and I decided to keep it.

"Between Tea breaks coffee breaks lunch breaks pee breaks we shall have a small work break"

"At about 2:30 in the mornin' I woke up and heard a freight train comin' down our lake.
And I thought "There ain't no freight train on this lake."
And it got closer, and closer, and closer, and closer.
And all of a sudden it hit, and it hit with a vengeance and I didn't know what was goin' on.
And all the lights were blown out on the dock and the boat was buckin' and rockin'.
And I was thrown to the floor and on my way to the floor I grabbed the curtain and looked outside.
And Lightnin' was flashin' and the rain was flying sideways and I thought, "Isn't that purrty?"
My A.D.D. kicked in for just a second there.
And then I realised, 'I'm gonna die.'"

Yay.

"As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

H. L. Mencken, 1920

Taken from The Daily Llama, a Monty Python site :

Quote
I probably owe my life to the fact that I couldn't get the rest of them to vote for my material. Graham and I wrote this savage attack on the Ayatollah Khomeini, about this frenzied loony with all these religious objections to toilet paper. It was just a scurrilous, way over-the-top attack on Islamic extremists. I thought it was hilarious, and the others didn't, so it never got in. And I owe my life to that, because we would've got at least a fatwah each. Actually, maybe that's what happened to Graham...

- John Cleese

John Cleese, on writing scenes for Monty Python's Meaning of Life with Graham Chapman and the other members of Monty Python; interview in "Ullo John, Gotta New Ending?," by Andrew Collins, Empire, February 1997, pp. 64-67.

Graham Chapman died several years ago.
