Your writing is not readable here for me (sitting in Europe) - I thing you use special letters ?

I think it's an alien... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> Look at its name, that definitely not earth-eh-ish!

Hmm I seem to have the same problem with Dreamweaver trying to publish a "Japanese" Menu, so I figure the poster is using a Japanese font losely based on MSMincho.
anyhow that's my gold piece worth of useless advise <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Oh, it's easy, you have several possibilities in "my home" to change languages. I once did that (2 chinese alphabets) without having the font myself. Result: I was in trouble, no main task bar here to get back into my home and change <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

what I did? I deleted my offline cookie on my PC and reentered here. Was a nice night for Xanlosch and me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I think our friend is trying to ask a question about the murder of the Duke... the closest I could come to a coherent translation was using one of the traditional Chinese encodings. Although some things didn't come out at all, the rest translated:

"The old duke murderer is appointed ??n, I went to V city to look for
knight, then went to business to be artificial ??as looked for that
person, after but hit not ??hat person, how later will do? ? ?"

Maybe someone else can fill in the gaps...?

Welcome to the forums, coolge. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

While solving the quest of exposing the Old duke’s murderer, I went to Verdicity to look for the assasin as advised by the “knight”, thus I went to a business meeting in the merchants guild. I have looked for that person but I could not find him.
How can I find that person?

Crystal clear. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

So, can someone re-translate an answer ?

I cannot. Never had this language at school.

By the way : How did you translate the text ? Using babelfish ? And how ? Copy & paste ?

Second addition : Maybe I should try posting some words into a chinese board ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I'll folow this thread just for the sheer fun of it! Keep on translating and let's hope we can help our new friend "Coolge" (but I won't spend my time on it...).

@Alrik: I just guessed it was an Asian language, and tried viewing using several different encodings. Copied and pasted the best result into WorldLingo translator. DAD's results were better than mine, though... Hope he will post his method!

Hi Rincewind.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

I used Babel Fish translator.

http://babelfish.altavista.com/

But I have developed a method for doing so.

Firstly, I had to view the text in this encoding format:

{Chinese Taditional (Big 5)}

Then I copied it and pasted in MS-Word.
Then I pasted it again in Babel Fish interface.

Then I copied the translation to MS-Word.
Then I translated every unresolved "Cangi" and placed it in the corresponding place.

Those words are the gramatically unresolved words but they have a meaning in vocabulary.

That is why by placing them in their corresponding places should not make sense but should give a hint on the meaning that has to be relocated to make any sense.

From that point on it is a word scribble quiz.

Thanks, Dad! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

@coolge: Sorry, but still not sure quite what your question was, but this site may be of help. Try the "Verdistis" link, for information about the Duke's murder quest. Hope it helps! Moriendor's Planet Divinity Site - walkthrough

Also check Kiya's Verdistis page, especially pictures #15 and 16. Scroll down the page for notes and tips on the various quests. Kiya's Divine Divinity - Verdistis page
