@ Myrthos thnx for the info! To everyone : thnx a lot for the kind words As far as Tzatziki it is made from yogurt, garlic and smashed cucumber. It is very usual dressing for many foods. It is often used in souvlaki but generally you can eat it with any meat plate. Greek salad is something else. It is made by tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, olives and olive oil, salt, and a bit of oregan But I mean it people stay away from ouzo. It has an awsome smell and taste but it is very strong. And it causes a pretty nasty hangover...

Lucretia. Thank you for sorting things out for me. I have tried greek salad, though in estonian interpretation. I will look for some Ouzo to taste it. And may be I will be lucky enough to find some recipes for Tzatziki and souvlaki.

Meert! Concerning Ouzo... Lucretia, don´t warn them! Ouzo is a great drink and not so strong than you say here. I have some (a lot ) of experiences with it, due to my time in Cyprus. Ouzo has about 40% Alcohol which is roughly the same as brandy. One should drink it after or before (better after) good meals and one should stick to maximum 2 glasses. Then Ouzo is a great drink. If you really want to make a mistake then drink 10 glasses without any meal........

Now that you're a reviewer, does this mean you get a free reviewers copy of games you wish to review???

Now that you're a reviewer, does this mean you get a free reviewers copy of games you wish to review??? Speaking from experience, getting review copies is at times more work than it's worth. In these days, we have to practicly 'beg' publishers to send one and then have to keep on asking over and over again if they've send one. Sometimes we don't even bother. We just buy the games we would have bought anyway and review that and ask for review copies for the others. If they don't send one in the end then they don't and we don't review it.

Got it. I was intrigued, I went to local store and looked for greek products, I have found Ouzo. I have it here on my table, it tastes like aniseed vodka, maybe a bit sweeter. It is nice. Cheers

Erh I don't think so. I think that Greece is a very small market, so if the game companies give to everyone who is writing a review one copy of the game... well in a small market like my country, I don't think that it would be very profitable. There are some very good pc magazines though and I think that at least there should be send a copy. The people there write really good reviews and those magazines have a wide sirculation in here. So I will buy the games as usual and play them and then write about what I think. I don't mind that. I would buy them after all.
And I think that it is not big deal really to be in Gamerspot. I don't know if they will like any other of my reviews... It happened to be good news the publication of . I have send a full review for Diablo2 and it is not uploaded (don't know if it will yet ) My joy was mainly for Larians. Advertising in a small country like mine is not first priority, so if some sites write about the game perhaps it will make the most possible sales.
@ Faralas
It is ok! Perhaps one day (as Kejero said) I will manage to make my page. I am still learning. And all those wonderfull people in here help.
@ Bernhard
Next time you will come you will drink ouzo from Mitilini (an island that mostly produces ouzo). And then you will tell me Hope you are not too big. I am very small and I will not be able to carry you...

In these days, we have to practicly 'beg' publishers to send one and then have to keep on asking over and over again if they've send one. depends on the publisher, I have a friend (my clanleader actually) that does some freelance reviewing for 'netwerk', a dutch IT mag. nintendo happely sends over copies before the release date, so does contact data (belgian games retailer), but about 3 days after the review deadline Best is to have a steady contact for the publisher I guess.

It indeed depends on the publisher. We have some good contacts and some that suck. Atari is one of the worst in the bunch. For starters publishers do not have to send us anything. If that's their policy then that's ok. But promising they will and then don't send anything doesn't do much for their credibility. That said, magazines are not comparable to online sites. Magazines are always favored above online nwessites.

Myrthos is right. I think that sending free copies depends on several things. As I wrote above I think that it depends on how big is the market of a country. Then I agree with Myrthos, it is about publishers´ policy and marketing strategy, and last but not least the magazine or the site. Well known magazines, with a big number of steady readers are I think in the top of the list for free copies.
I have to note something here. IMHO, getting a free copy of a game it is important, but not because it is free. If you like to write reviews, you sure are a gamer and a gamer can not resist. You would buy the game after all. But getting a copy a bit EARLIER than its publication to the rest of the market is the most important. You have the chance to play it a bit, and then write about it, so when the game is finally out, gamers feel already the urge to buy it. A review I think (if it is positive) can be a big teaser to the gamers and the best advertising. Almost all the games I have bought was after reading a review.
@ Bernhard
No luck I will leave you drunk whenever you are. Too big for me.

I did Diablo2 review (I know you saw it). Now I am thinking to make a review about Broken Sword - The sleeping Dragon. I want to play it a bit more so I will know better. We missed ya.

Now I am thinking to make a review about Broken Sword - The sleeping Dragon. I want to play it a bit more so I will know better. Woohoo! Can't wait Do post when you're ready! Oh... We should really find ourselves some dedicated Greek translators for this forum. Can't ask from Luc to translate every Greek text we're interested in, right Anyone know any dedicated Greek translators?

It is a pleasure for me to translate things from Greek. I just need some time but I really enjoy it and I practice my English which is something I really need . As soon as I write about Broken Sword I will post in here
