Starting skills availability are determined when you choose the skill types for your characters. For warriors, this includes the passive 'melee | one handed | slashing | damage/accuracy/etc' and other options. Edmond can teach you an elemental missile attack. You need to get to level 2 before being able to use any skills, though, so you start off melee.

I've heard the rumor that the German Demo doesn't have any voiceacting at all, so I can't say anything to this until the full game (supposed this is true)

The DK's voice wasn't great, but it was acceptable.
The worst voice acting was from the soldier on the west side of the prisons. He's got a lisp and it makes him sound so harmless and peaceful, even though he's supposed to be a though prison guard from another dimension. Pretty sad the way he says "Oh yes yes, you will leave this place... in a wooden box". It makes him about as fearful as a little bunny wunny.
The best voice acting is the prisoner in the top-left prison, you know, the one that thinks you're a demon and doesn't want you to eat his crunchy pieces (or what was it again?). Brilliant

and the ranger in the room of the men who think your gideon, his voice is WAY to high and frightful for a guard.
also, yes, the same one you talked about Tovi. that guy says it way to fast.
you will leave here, yes, in a wodden box.
or whatever. or, feet first.
WAY to fast. and it shouldn't be hard to fix him right? just one guys voice? three lines to be recorderd.

I haven't got into the game yet, because, while I generally don't care much about graphics (though that's not an issue since the game looks great graphiclly) the one thing I am bothered by is aliasing. And anti-aliasing isn't working on this. I use a Radeon 9600, and if I set aliasing to application preference and check the "FSAA" box in the Beyond Divinity config box, then I go in, and, judging from the model that it uses for creating your charecter, it's not working. I go back to config and sure enough the FSAA box is unchecked- it unchecks it when I launch the game. I tried setting my card to 6x AA, but that didn't work either. Anyone know why this demo doesn't work with AA and if it can be fixed?

It's here!
I want to know if there will be a cinematic scene preceding the beginning of the game. It doesn't have to be 3D and all that like in the the first game; if it used the in- game graphics it would be fine. But it's very weak story-telling if this is the actual beginning of the game - you just start out in the dungeon with only a few sentences from the death-knight to tell you what is going on. At least include the backstory in the manual.
Well that's my gripe, and hopefully it's unjustified. I love the actual demo. I don't have any complaints about the voice acting or graphics or control or any of that. And I'm trusting all the little imperfections will get polished up in the next month or so.

Don't worry. You'll get your Intromovie as well as a backstory.
Thanx for all your comments, they are truly helpful for us in polishing up the final game.

I see only 2 main problems:
1.) Not being able to set up keys to scroll east/west/north/south. 2.) It is VERY hard to move anything. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes it takes 15 attempts. Examples are barrels/chairs/garbage..picking up decapitated heads..hands. I cannot figure out why this happens, and I've played around with it for a long time trying to find a common occurrence when this happens. I'd say it's a pain to move/grab normal items at least 75% of the time. I've tried it in every resolution of the game.

Press CAPS-LOCK or hold SHIFT and use the mouse to scroll the screen. 2.) Click on or next to the object to get as close as possible before trying to move it. The object must be glowing white, not red, before you can move it. I hope this helps and sorry if it doesn't!

1.) I don't want to use the mouse to scroll the screen at all. I want to be able to do it with my left hand while using the mouse cursor to go over items. 2.) I know how to move the items and that they have to be white. The problem is, even when you are close and they are white, they refuse to move half the time.
Thanks anyway.

Did I miss this, or is there no way to auto-attack? DD had some way that you could control-click or something to automatically attack the nearest enemy so you didn't have to constantly chase them with your mouse. I see no way to do this in BD. Also, how do you auto-select your whole party, is there no shortcut for this? Clicking that button is a nuisance. However, the demo is very fun and the graphical additions are great!

auto-attack => CTRL+ target with mouse click, left or right (depending on your primary/secondary skill). As long as you see the enemy bar, the chars will attack. Magic has to be clicked over and over again - weapon combat is done automatically with one left click. Auto-select party => TAB (control keys)

That's not much of an auto-target considering you have to hold down ctrl then click on the target. Or can you just click anywhere? Didn't try it myself.

ok I finished the demo, it was way to short comparing to DD demo. but overall feeling about the demo is that the full game would be great ! anyway two things I'd like to comment
- as for the DK's voice...I hope his voices are more deep and tough to matching for his dark look. His grunt and death sounds during the battle are excellent and give me some dark and gruesome feeling...but voice tone in the actuall conversation seems a bit light and little. give him some "Tougher" voice plz.
- character modelling....I actually have not much complaints about this but it would be great at least main characters(including DK) have more poly counts for better look. I presume all the guys in this forum know upcomming action RPG "SACRED", it's demo also came out a little ago. I was amazed when I saw character models especially female character "Seraphim", beautiful and very female feel and "SEXY". Frankly I was disappointed with the female model in the BD demo, she dose not look like female for me.(especially I don't like her Big Foot) I hope the main character models have more poly in the full version.
great job Larian !
