I have killed all the rats and guards. Finished the Edmond quest. I am trying to kill Fergus but I keep dying. I obviously don't know how to fight. Can someone give me some guidance please.

Fergus is pretty tough, and you're pretty much forced to fight him as lvl 2, and he's lvl 4... Took me a couple of tries before I could actually kill him.

Remember to use the pause-button for tough battles. It gives you the time to think things through.

What I did was, I made sure my deathknight had high strength and agility, and I gave him a skill to increase his slashing accuracy. My other guy I gave lots of intelligence, and I gave him a fire missle spell.

Basically, you have to get your Deathknight in front to start attacking, while your other guy casts as much fire spells as possible. Don't forget to use mana potions and health potions, or regeneration potions if you actually found any.

That actually the trick for the whole game. One melee char and one magic. Best combo. The difficulty on Fergus is the fact that he heals.

Also remeber thet the stock of potions you have, counts for both deadthknight and you. Just press the right botton to switch.

I had the Deathkinght beating the dogbiscuits out of Fergus while my character had a bow equipped. Killed in 2 tries.

How have you distributed your stat points? If you increase your Survival and Speed, it helps a lot. For both characters, at level 2 I bumped Strength up to 6, left Intelligence at 1, and got the rest to 3. I equipped a bow on my hero and left him beside the door, and walk into the torture room with just my DK. At the end of the conversation I paused, selected both characters, targeted Fergus, unpaused and watched him die. Taking the hero/archer in with the DK, Fergus tended to go after her rather than the DK.
My first time through the demo I put more into Strength and Agility right away, and had more difficulty with Fergus. Doing better damage doesn't always compensate for being slower or attacking second.

Well, I gave some good can of whoopass with my DK, My hero had a bow but was so clumsy with it that it was more dangerous for my DK than for Fergus . When we were almost death I ran with my two boys to the pit where we had come out. Lady Fergy doesn't follow you there. We went back to the cell block to catch some sleep and then we continued the fight untill he was plain dead. Took me a lot of tries also so don't worry, it's perfectly normal.

If you specialize in damage for your weapon(I just used one-handed slashing for the DK and crushing for me) you'll hit about twice as hard. Easily the best skill to take early on!

Killing Fergus was so hard for me after 2days of trying. So this morning I started over with a new crew! I gave her the earth magic and him secondary fire magic he had a ax and she sword I think.. And then even still over and over and over... I even went down one hole and came up the other went into the chamber and Fergus still standing at the hole waiting for me to come up. I thought that was funny. But did not help me much, although I went into his chamber and got what I could and went into the room bottom that little fountains of health and mana and the chest with special potion I forgot what name it has..Did not help much. Then finally we killed him. I did use pause alot to regroup and give help to my guyes health or mana, it really helps if you do that. I got that info here on forum. So in the end I could kill the big spiders but not the ghost 2 of them could not kill. Was at level 4.. and so I went down the pit. Lost talking sound a few times? and my girls feet looked weird she never had shoes.
I liked it Im sure the game will be way better. Looking forward to it.

My first and second characters took a dozen tries to kill Fergus. Surprisingly my third party, a combination of the DK and my mohawked urchin with a poison bow dropped him like a sack of potatoes.

First level up - boost your Speed and Agility. Specialise in a weapon if you have a warrior. If you have a mage, then learn a elemental missile skill. Focused skill does too little damage. Survivors shall take Posion.

Second, there's a little secret in Fengrus' chamber. Click on the picutre on the top upper right hand corner. This will open a door to the south. Run into there - there is a mana and health shrine there. Use it if you run out of potions.

My two cents:

For your warrior, use the Short Sword the Death Knight starts with (unless you somehow found something better!). Spend your first skill point on Single Handed Slashing Damage. Spend your first stat points with 3 in Agility and 2 in Speed. Then have your other character either use magic or archery. Melee works too, but I found that bows are quite powerful earlier on. You may need a healing potion or two, but this method is quite effective.

The FAR easiest way is to spare the skillpoints of Level 2 upgrading for the skills the teacher teaches you. With them, it's rather easy to defeat Fergus.
I had found this out, after I started a whole new game.

Mirach,
The contents of the cupboard are random: I once found a [nocando] sword of agility there .
