Hi all,

I just bought the game, installation went smoothly. When I clicked on the desktop shortcut to launch the game, I get a box message: "Application installed successfully. Reboot the computer to complete installation. Continue?"

So I clicked yes and the computer auto-rebooted. I clicked on the game shortcut again and the same message appeared! I tried again and again.... and the game never launch and just keeps on prompting me to reboot to complete the installation!! What's going on?? Need help!

P.S. Sorry if this prob has been posted before... I searched through 7 pages of past posts but can't find a thread about it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

Thanks and Regards,

Do you have any software installed that prevents the game from writing to your registry????

This will happen when the game cant load the nescesary stuff that is supposed to be written in your registry when it installs.

Also try to apply the Latest Patch

See if that will force it to continue....

If you have anything that monitors your regis try, disable it during the install, or configure it to accept the changes to your registry.

What you can also try, is to run the config tool in your program menu (doesnt appear on the desktop, only in your menus)

this may also give the game a kickstart out of the reboot phase...

This is the first time that i heard of anyone running into that specific error.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions and the welcome to the forums. I have already downloaded the latest patch but the problem remains. I don't think I have anything that interferes with my registry (not sure though, I'm not very tech savvy). How do I run the config tool?

The location of your config tool, may vary slightly, but most of the times, this is where you will find it:

Click on <start>
then <programs>
then <larian studios>
then <beyond divinity>
then <configuration>

hope this helps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hi,

Thx for tip, tested the config tool at various display resolutions and it came out ok at about 65fps. But problem not solved, darn it.

Tried reinstalling game, didn't work. And I noticed that it doesn't matter whether I have disc 1 or 2 (or no disc at all) in the CD drive... same message keep coming up and preventing game launch. Arrrgh..

Hi,

Our apologies for this inconvenience.

Apparently StarForce cannot install the drivers on your computer. Do you have administrative rights on your computer? Please try running the game as administrator. If this doesn't work, please contact support@larian.com.

Thank you and best,
Lynn

Okies, I learnt something new.... (something that only the people who know the insides of the game can possibly tell you)..

Thanks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
