First of all, I have been reading these forums for a while (over a year I think) and it even is possible that I allready created an account here, but I do not remember I did, so I just created one ^^ Now that I was playing Divine Divinity again, I encountered a *huge* problem...

I lost one of my teleporters... and no, not just lost, because when I click the one I left at Mardaneus, it says they aren't working, just like it would say when you have both of the pyramids in your inventory. But ofcourse, there isn't one in my inventory.
I have 2 quicksaves, and I save to other save-files regulary, but for some reason (read: BAD LUCK) It was a while ago I used my teleporters, and the last savegame where I had them, is before I activated the teleporter in aleroth, before I won the fight in the Dwarven Bread Inn (took me hours ), before I found the teleporter thingies south of the Dwarven Bread Inn and the one East of that (in the forest, crowded with orcs) and before I went to the general and did loads of stuff there (I also found some good items, and a frog statue thing etc.).
So I could load that game, but I'd hate to do all that stuff over again.

I remember something about items in a book, but that's only one special book, right??? And I don't have that one yet. I moved all the items in my inventory, checked everything, went throught the whole map holding down shift and alt... even walked from the general to Mardaneus while encumbered (pretty boring, needless to say)... but no, didn't find them :'(

Anyone has a clue? Raze, help me will you

Thanks,
Shagrath

PS: Other questions:
1) I found a "saphire key" a while ago, but I can't remember what it is used for... anyone?
2) When you go north somewhere near the Dwarven Bread Inn, you encounter 3 thugs on the road. I remembered that you can talk your way out of there by acting rough, so I did that... or is it better to kill them for more XP (17K instead of 6K)
3) Where can I find the cat again?? You know, the one you can 'talk' to ^^

Um... I didn't enter the Stormfist castle yet. Last thing I did was fighting of the attacking orcs after I spoke the general... and looted the armory ^^

Could you have placed the other teleporter in a chest, or something?

It will be a while before you are you close to entering the castle, but if you bring the teleporter with you then, it will by 'borrowed' and you will get them both back later.

You can place the teleporter stone you have in a barrel, or something, and download a replacement set;
Lost Items - guide and directory of inventory files

The sapphire key was probably for a chest or door near where you found it. You may have lockpicked what it was for before finding the key. I dropped about half a dozen keys before beginning the blessing ceremony, that I had accumulated this way (pretty sure I didn't miss whatever they were for).

The thugs are not involved in anything else, so you can kill them for the better experience.

The cat you can 'talk' to should stay in Aleroth. If you didn't clear the orcs out from around Aleroth, one may have wandered in, or the cat wandered out...

Well... I don't have lockpick and I also never used it in this game -_-

But thanks for the advice, I hate to mess up my files, but I guess I have no choice ^^

Thanks again

1) I remember is a blue saphire key with a head that looks like clubs (the sign on regular cards). That one is used to open a door in the catacombs, level 1 (and thats where you get the key). When you enter level 1 of the catacombs through its entrance, and go through the first door, you'll come across another wich you cant open. That saphire key is for that door. It doesnt take you to anywhere special, that door just allows you to go back to the entrance quickly rather than going up the smelly halls and then down. You'll know what I mean once you try it. That is if this is the saphire key youre talking about. And you gotta be a little more specific dude, you know what I mean?.

2) Well, this you have to decide for yourself really. If you meet them too early in the game and you think youre not powerful enough then dont mess with them. But if you got "Bat of Striking" from the catacombs (level 5), in a chest I believe . That weapon has frost. That way, if you're weak yet, you may have a chance to bet them. To make it easier just put dexterity or vitality charm(s) .

3) Since you've seem him you must have gone into the castle (unless seeing him in the intro movie counts lol). After that, you see him again when you get out of Iona's dungeons, from level 1, which will lead you into the graveyard in Rivertown. i also read in a walkthrough that youll see Arhu (that cat) and Zandalor together when you enter the westlands. Other than that I dont know.

You lose your teleporter stones temporarily when you enter the castle, but you get them back. There are a couple small places where they will not work, but that's about it. There is no connection to or limit from the teleporter pads.

Well, i didn't enter the castle yet (remember the cat from last time i played DD, a long time ago ^^)..

The saphire key indeed opens that door in the catacombs, thank =)

Guess i'll have to mess with my files for the teleporters :'(

EDIT: I've done the lost items thing, and now I have two teleporter stones again, but it now is one-way. I can go from the stone i keep with me to Mardaneus, but if I click the stone that I placed in his house, it says the "apperently don't work now".

So now I have one-way teleporting

Can someone help me out please

EDIT2: Okay, I solved it... I just placed both stones from the file I downloaded in his house, in a different room than my old one I still had (to keep them sepperated, just in case). So I saved the game, copied the files again, and the new ones work, and the old one teleports me to one of the new stones. So I placed the old one in his cellar (well, you know, when you go down the hatch in his house) just to get rid of it. I hope this doesn't give me any problems on the IMp and Ancient Pyramids...

Ohh by the way, if youre planning on playing on, I wouldn't recommend you enter the Sormfist Castle until you are level 25 or over (take away or give 2) and have a good weapon in hand, preferably with frost. And also, a good amount of "purple potion" (forgot the name). I dont wanna tell you why and spoil it for you unless you really want to know. Part of it is obvious though.

Last time I was around level 20 i think, and it took a few tries, but now, I think I'll take care of the bitch in no time... I have almost 300 restoration potions and nice gear (only level 16 tho, and I allready entered ^^)
The purple potions you mean are Elixir I think... don't use them now, even forgot the effect ^^

BTW, the imp took my teleporters, was no problem at all

Nope. Well.. not unless you decide to attack anyone. I never tried it. But you'll have plenty of that once you get out of the there.

Dont worry though, you'll have things to do there. Ohh by the way, make sure to explore the whole castle when you go in, well as much of it as that is .

i thought that wandering through the castle was vey helpful, easy XP. and if it is fighting that you want, you will find it soon enough.

The Saphire Key?
You will find it in the first level of the Aleroth Dungeons ( the level with the 3 magic orbs )
You can open a door with it, which will save you around 2 minutes of walking when coming back in the dungeons ( level 1 ) again

or you could just use the stairs in the Aleroth graveyard.
