I bought Vampire: The masquerade bloodlines a couple of days ago for 4 euros <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
I heard alot of good about this game so i said why not for such a nice price.

Installed the game but when i tried to run it, after the "commercials" the game just crashed to desktop saying: Failed to lock vertex buffer in CDesh DX8 :: LockVertexBuffer

I have no idea what to do and was hoping someone here could help me, i really want to play this game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks in advance.

What I would do is search on google for the official site <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

Have you checked for any patches? If not, you should make sure you update it to the latest version.

Very lousy site if you ask me, will try to find patch.
Oh and what patch should i take 1.2 official or the unofficial 3.2 patch?

Might be worth looking at their official forum, then. Chances are someone else has had the same problem you have.

Yeah already did all of that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
But i got it fixed i installed latest drivers and it seems to work now, was more difficult then you should think installing them drivers, first the link din't work for 10 mins, then it says i had to install something else first, you know.. the usual

But it seems it's fixed now yay <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

If you have anything that you want to share or say about the game you can do it here now.

Oh and what do you recommend the official 1.2 patch or the unofficial 3.2?

Glad you solved the problem <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've never played the game myself, but I hear it's pretty good. Hope you enjoy it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My boyfriend has this game and I've been playing it the last couple of days. So far it's pretty awesome. Highly recommended.

Yeah the game is really good, but i don't know what they were thinking when they created the end of the game, to much fighting not enough talking, quality ain't that good either, a shame for such a briljant game, don't stop playing though, it is just a small part of the game.

IIRC the game was ripped from Trokia by the publisher four months before it was released, so I suspect they were short on time. Pity really <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />.

Yeah this may be one of my favorite games of all time. I don't think I've ever heard better voice acting, and the whole dialogue system is amazing. You really feel connected to the characters in the game. And it just bleeds atmosphere.

Honestly I think all 1st person RPG's should just copy the way this game handles conversations.

I almost never beat games more then once, when I played this game, I beat it 3 times straight in 2 weeks, it was just so good.
