Hi,

I have a very bad problem. When I open up my game, it shows me a message (i'll try to translate from polish)

Nvidia PhysX initialization failed. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Nvidia PhysX software

I've installed the software, but the message still opens when I try to run the game. The Nvidia physX software was added to my cd, so it mus be right.

WAZZZZZZZZZZZZZUP!?

I got this error too when I opened the game, but I just clicked it away and the game still started.
Maybe this works for you too?

It does not. i tried to put the shottcut where my nvidia physX is, but it did not worked.

what graphics card are you running?

c:\Program Files\AGEIA Technologies\

What do you see there?

1. My graphic card is: Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS
2. In C:/program files/AGEIA technologies i see some folders:
v.2.3.1
v.2.3.2
v.2.3.3
(...)
v.2.8.1
an ICO file with Nvidia logo named "A_Ball_Trans"
a TXT file named "DO_NOT_MANUALLY_DELETE_ANY_SUBFOLDERS" with no text inside (it should be kind of warning)
and a MHTML file named "NVIDIA_PhysX_help

I have the same files, is this normal?

I have a 8600 GTS and my game won't start. After the intro movie with the red ship the game freezes.

AFAIK, 7xxx series has NO physX support.
But the game still should work since it doesn't uses GPU acceleration for physics.
Hmm... try to copy following files into your "bin/" dir where Divinity2.exe is:
c:\Program Files\AGEIA Technologies\v2.8.1\PhysXCooking.dll
c:\Program Files\AGEIA Technologies\v2.8.1\PhysXCore.dll
c:\Windows\System32\PhysXDevice.dll
c:\Windows\System32\PhysXLoader.dll

It doesen't work.

Have you tried to remove all nvidia's drivers (both, Display and PhysX) via CP and re-install it again?

With a 7600gs card, this is what i would try:

* as Kein suggested: completely remove both Nvidia driver and the Nvidia physx driver and install new ones
* turn off HDR in the game options

If this does not resolve the problem, please tell us.

O.K. I'll try but i have some more questions:
I.What's CP mentioned by Kein?
II. I've tried to run it on another of my computers. After all logos i get error message (like one of "windowds has failed, sorry for the problem. [send report/don't send])Everytime I run the game.

On a sidenote, Do you have the latest DirectX?

I am with a Geforce 9800 GX2 and i have the same problem the msg is "couldn't create render" i've installed the latest physx and drivers still can't play the game.Anything from the mods?

This should resolve most of the basic problems, if not please let us know.

I think it could be a problem. I don't have it installed. I'll try, then I'll tell you what's happening

Install latest DircetX (aug2009)

So've installed all the things and it doesn't run i am with Vista 64 Ultimate.I have another OS Win XP SP2 it runs on that one so i am guessing it has something to do with the 64bit OS.I have the latest DirectX latest PhysX latest drivers got the CC++ ran the reg file nothing.Still the same message

With latest directx , do you mean dx10 ?

even if you have dx10 , you still need to install dx9.0c to run our game.

I have vista64 at home and the game runs fine on my setup, so it would surprise me if it was just your OS causing this problem.

NO i mean directx 9.0c i've installed the one on the game disk still the same message. I think the main problem here is the 2 gpu video card here.If you find any solution pls let me know until then I will play on the XP.

MB-MSI P7N Zilent 760i SLI
RAM:Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066mhz
VC-EVGA Ge-Force 9800 GX2

I have the latest directx 9.0c latest drivers latest physx uninstalled them and installed them still the same msg.

ok people this is what i did to fix it, i had this before with another game

download a program called driver sweeper, or something that can clean your drivers

uninstall all nvidia en physx related drivers. do not restart yet, use the driver sweeper first.

be sure to tick both nvidia (not chipset) an physx box, if it doesnt clean all on the first go , do it again.

reboot

install latest drivers, physx driver isnt needed as they come with the nvidia driver

Yeah, nvidia/ati always had such problems when there is some part of oldest drivers left in teh system.

So i figured the problem! It's not the driver sweeper.Because I am with a CRT monitor and i have to lock resolutions with refresh rates so i can play with 100mhz.Anyway when I put the locked resolution the game won't run the sec I remove them it runs.It's not a problem though the game gets the right refresh rate for the resolution I just thought the guys who made the game would like to know.
