Please let me know how to kill this firebreathing dragon that guards the ruby of the second level down of the catacombs beneath Aleroth. I can never seem to kill him with my warrior. What do I need to do? Anything? Or should I just avoid him at all costs? Thanks!

firebreathing dragon??? There are no dragons in the game (exept for patriarch). Are you referring to the skeleton summoners?

Can you give a more details on the exact location plz. I'm a bit confused here.

Of course!
It's not dragon, it's skeletal conjurer, why, look below.
  • Skeletal conjurer has some sort of little wings and it's look does remind of a little dragon.
  • Firebreathing is actually meteorstrike which conjurer casts.
  • If my memory serves me right, there IS a ruby in the room with conjurer.
  • And this all IS in the catacombs lvl 2.

Some tips how to kill it:
  • Never use melee atack on him, you're too weak and it'll kill you in few shots.
    Atack it from afar.
  • Meteorstrike is very useful in catacombs, and when casted rapidly it does lot of damage in short period of time.
  • Steal bow from the George's house. Boost agility and strenght to reach bow requirements to use it, very useful.
  • Use hit & run tactic

Sorry about not replying sooner! I had some work to do around the house before I could come back to the game. Yes, Dragon! You got it right! Those are the exact tips that I needed. I guess that wasn't a dragon then, huh? Sorry for confusing you guys! Wish me luck with the rest of the catacombs. Also, I received more of the storyline. Should I finish up the catacombs beneath Aleroth first? Or should I go to the Dwarven Inn and learn more about the Marked Ones from the wizard? Any help on deciding would be great! It's hard for me to decide on my own!

P.S. My Warrior is now on level six. Is that still too weak to destroy the skeletal conjurer? Let me know!

Finish the catacombs first, very important for later. Mardaneus MUST restore his sanity.

Welcome to the forum! (minor spoiler ahead!) I also tend to grab the old bodyguard befor I go below the first level. He helps take alot of damage away from a low level character,
by fighting for you. Just remember that you cannot leave the catacombs untill
you are done with him or he will finally get his freedom. Good Luck! Mslynx

To answer questions is what we're here for... I think.
You'll find avatars all over the net.
There are nice avatars too. You can find those overhere
(hm...think you know that one... I'll leave the link anyway.)

Have fun.

Bodyguard?????? What old bodyguard? I didn't know there was one! Where can I find him? I've just made it to the third level of the catacombs in Aleroth where all the tombs are. If you open one of them, a group of skeletons appear out of nowhere and just start attacking you! I happened to open one of those tombs last night and out of nowhere appeared a flame-throwing arrow skeleton who I can't seem to defeat with my Level 7 warrior. Will this bodyguard help to take care of that problem for me? Please let me know! Also, what is the point of the third level catacombs besides the fact of fighting off more skeletons and two locked tombs? Any help would be great! Thanks!

There is an Undead One, which could help you.

In one of the very first levels, not too far away from the Orcs, you can see the statue of a woman. She can still summon an undead person to your help.

But be careful not to hit him, because then he could turn against you (like everyone, who is treated unfriendly ) .

And a second note: Getting out of the catacombs means for that undead one (like mslynx said) that this one will be redeemed; because he is cursed, cursed to help you.

The Steel Guardian (or whatever) who uses fire balls is the toughest of the 4 guardians. He doesn't leave much time for hit-and-run tactics. As a warrior I had to use a few potions, but was able to go toe-to-toe with him. As a survivor/archer on hard, I gave up after a few tries and used a scorpion. You could try the other three first and see if you can go up a level (or at least get some better equipment dropped).

The bodyguard you get from the statue in the room south of where you placed the three orbs to get the portal to the level 2 stairs. He is slow; I left the catacombs deliberately to release him, because he was more trouble than he was worth, IMO.

But those steel ones only come later, Raze.
When he's a lot stronger.
