Well, I have grown an affinity to the steelscorpions and I was dissapointed because of their... "independent" nature. However, I found the cure for this. Aura of command does not apply only to magically summoned creatures but to the scorpions as well. So now my adventures are like I'm getting my pet scorpion for a walk. Cool! A score of creatures may approach and I can... browse my inventory while my faithful pet takes care of them. I even give it magical and physical shields, not that it needs it, just... as a token of my affinity and appreciation.

On the serious side of matters, just two of level 2 (that is... level 200 actually) scorpions can get you out of almost any trouble, especially if you prefer bow weapons so do it only as a last resort because otherwise it makes the game very easy. However, if you get bored of fighting your way slowly in the huge caves of the game they are a relief, and those pesky Verdistis sewers or Elonas multilevelled cave need hours to be beaten. So, here it is, make your choice.
