Notice in the last few frames of the sizzle reel that dropped today there's a blond woman with hair that looked like it moved somewhat realistically? Its hard to tell from the few frames we saw, but this is in contrast to the gameplay we saw in February where Shadowheart & Astarion's hair looked like it was made of wood (especially noticeable when shadowheart was being fed on in the campsite and with her head tilted back her hair was pointing up.
Long story short, I hope what we saw in February were pre-alpha character models and the engine is capable of some level of realistic cloth/hair physics. Its not a deal breaker but it does snap you out of the experience when it looks like you and your companions look like they're made of Lego

I guess the effects were not ready in February, but I am not sure how often they would use these, as they are very hard and time consuming to make.

I think the cinematic treatment made the characters looks very good already. smile

I think its also important to note that back in Februrary, and even March, they were still in pre-alpha.
