Star Wars: KOTOR, if you fail me, I will be forced to abandon RPG games until Riftrunner is released (luckily not too far away <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />).

Subnote: Praise the Divine One for he favours me! Hitman3 is being made. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Ok, this might not belong in a RPG forum very much, but heck, I bet Hitman3 has potential to be better than Lionheart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Even more, mate! Freedom Fighters is made too :0). But Hitman 3 will wait a bit, I guess. At least untill FF is released <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

In the german RPG chat there is also a discussion about the Demo.

Some say that the chars are quite crappy animated (Marian says this, too, in this sense).

Another complaint is that the enemies are able to run, whereas the own char isn't. (Bows as short-range weapons. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> )

If I wasn't downloading a 700+ mb file I'd download the demo to trash it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Ahh, Marian was just being nice...to the obviously inferior animator... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> the demo sucks, i tried it again today, and unless you've got children who really must have this game....i say save your money.....and your time downloading the demo......bargain bin.......hello!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

somewhat reminds me of the voice from beauty and the beast...... 2 thumbs <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif" alt="" />

it's comin off my comp right now.....150mb of brown,stinky stuff !! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Actually to be honest......download mike oldfield's tube demo...it's more fun,
and i still can't figure it out.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

What kind of a name is "Lionheart"? It's not even original! The should've named the game
[Linked Image]
Much more original plus it makes me think of Brave Sir Robin from Monty Pythoon.

sigh... does this mean there's one less game for me to play?

reading the forum posts in interplay(thanks to carrie for the link), i feel that the dev's being honest by saying if u don't like it, then it's not your cup of tea. not everyone likes diablo series. there are people who trash nox. & quite a bunch of DD fans hate NWN. so what's the perfect game? don't answer that, it's rhetorical.

still, i'll be checking it out & see how i fare. if i can survive a deathclaw with a lead pipe, i may survive in the demo. wish me luck & i hope 2 bring u all with good news soon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Hit F2 to minimize the interface (though rather annoyingly, after talking to anyone the full interface will remain on screen rather than automatically minimize again) and F9 often to quick save. If the game supports higher resolutions and does something about the monster speed I'll take another look at it. Right now, I think you have to sneak to be able to use a bow long range (if they see you, melee monsters are toe-to-toe before you can get more than one shot off, if that), and possibly keep yourself at the edge of the screen rather than centered. I think a higher agility helps with the speed.

They say that the graphics are generaly quite bad, whereas the gameplay is promising.

One reported example is a quest in the demo, where it is possible to solve it without combat !

Character-development seems to be quite good (at least that's how I understood it), and , well, generally speaking, the gameplay itself isn't that bad - except what i mentioned before.

The people in this thread have begun speculating why the graphics do look so bad, and the point is that thus game is made by Interplay, which isn't healthy nowadays. They might have fired some graphic artists, speculation goes, or even few to none at all.

Wow! And Larian is the biggest company which ever existed... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
And Black Isle is a pretty solid company...

In one of the previews (Avault I think) it was mentioned that someone finished the game without combat at all.

I think that thing with firing the graphic artists was more of a rethorical question. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> The Graphics aren't important anyway.
Well, I was saying, that the good Atmosphere in the game suffers from design faults, such as the combat (rocket-speed enemies), the useless pause function and other things.
There were three side-quests in the Demo. Deal with the thieves (you could talk them into leaving, or kill them), deal with the wasps (=Kill them), deal with the goblins (=Kill them).
Overall I'd say that the Demo is of poor quality, but something keeps me returning to it. No final judgement.

As I said ... the gameplay it self seems to be good, people report ...

A bad demo doesn't mean a bad game. Look at Divinity. The demo sucked monkeyballs. Noone likes the first dungeon.

It still has great potential. A good setting, too.
Shut up and stop complaining all - wait until the full game releases! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Actually, when I first played the first dungeon I kinda liked it.

The thing is, why release a demo if nobody is going to like it? The quake2 demo, the hitman2 demo, the Unreal Tournament (original and 2003), they're all representative of the full game (and I found them all quite good btw).

Really, if your demo isn't going to represent the full game, don't make one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Ah the Divinity Demo didn't "suck monkey balls" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" /> as you so eloquently put it... i thought it was a good demo.......alot better than most demos anyway.
was die Hölle um hier weitergeht! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> howz that?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />
