I really enjoyed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />, I just finished it last night actually. I do have a suggestion though for future games in this series...

If there is only going to be one major set of armor in the game, at least make it really great. I was rather frustrated to finally get the whole set together only to seemingly find better equipment everywhere I turned right afterwards. Or make it so that with the whole set on you get bonus attributes. I felt somewhat let down by the Dragon Armor set in the end.

Oh, and don't forget to give us pyramids! Those were fantastic <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Looking forward to seeing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" /> in stores soon!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif" alt="" />

welcome to het forum! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

some people had really good dragon armor, it varies.

yes, we all love those things.

I agree, I wish it was earlier <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image]

as you probably noticed all items have random stats in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />.
If the dragon armor isn´t good in your case save before picking it up and reload after identifying...
...so you can get the armor you want! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

but anyway, many of us (me too) feel that some items shouldn´t be that random...
Posted By: Kejero Re: Armor Set - 20/09/03 09:39 AM
... and they won't all be random in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" /> (and <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> 2) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

So keep smiling like this [Linked Image], you have every reason to! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Welcome Wendy! Ya that loading and reloading was a pain! I don't think our Larians intended for us to do that , really. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> But you know how gamers are. If there is any way to get a better stat on something. Someone is going to create the editor/some sort of hack to get it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> LOL! I have a feeling there are going to be some awesome armors and weapons in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" />. I.E. no need to hack! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kissyou.gif" alt="" />
Posted By: janggut Re: Armor Set - 22/09/03 08:50 AM
no need to hack? i doubt that seriously as i know DAD will create one for us whether we like it or not. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Janggut! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />
In fact, there was an item editor before I even think to make one.
I made my editor only because bows were missing from the other editor that was around.
Also, yes I made it for me but I thought I could share it with others who may need it.
So it is not a matter of whether you like it or not, but only if you insist. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Well I liked so much <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> as it is and I don´t want to cheat. It makes me loose the illusion that I am in the game and all those things happen to me. But then again that is why it takes so long for me to finish it... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

agree there, nothing makes you proud about finishing a game when know you did it all on your own with out using cheats.

note: had to fix a typeo
Posted By: Setharmon Re: Armor Set - 23/09/03 05:02 PM
I agree too.
Would make feel like I'm cheating to much.

I agree with Winddow... err Widdowhugger (no offence, you can call me DEAF AT THE DOOR if you wish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/freak.gif" alt="" /> [which would give another meaning to the 'caps]). I cheated in games and I realize now that it was wrong.

Snake Eyes from [color:"red"]G[/color][color:"blue"]I[/color]Joe says:
"Hey kids! Cheating in games is cheating in life!"

Joking. Actually there was indeed an article about this in some american newspaper <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Posted By: Widdowhugger Re: Armor Set - 23/09/03 11:08 PM
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" /> hmmm Winddow Exp....i'm off to microsoft lol.

back to ontopic, All my life I have a gaming style finnish it to death with legit.......then cheat, mainly because i got the game collecting dust and i get those times where i wonder to myself what happened if i did this ie doom, i clocked that game 10 times with all add-ons so i cheated to see what god mode was like. i admit cheating DOES suck the fun out of it at times, well except in dagger fall making 100 guards chase you and you slaughtering them all until your game crash due to lack of ram was a laugh.

"I was rather frustrated to finally get the whole set together only to seemingly find better equipment everywhere I turned right afterwards."

actually i think that's a plus... :|

i hate when there's an ultimate armor or an ultimate weapon that takes searching for better armaments almost completely out of the equation in the game... >:(

then again i also dislike when i have 5 or 6 armors which are almost equally beneficial... divdiv's item/stat randomness is kindova fallback against that... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

one thing i'd really like to see in riftrunner would be a difference in appearance of armors when worn by the character - even if the only difference is a color palette change like for some (most) armors in diablo 2...

Well in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> I change a lot armors and everytime my char. seems different. Recently I found a helmet and it was different from the other ones I had, and when I put it on my char. looked so silly <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Silly but different that´s for sure. When I changed my sield it happened again. I liked that. I can see the difference in my char.

Separacalo LUCRETIA,
I finished the game more than 30 times since Novemeber 2002 and before I ever find out about this forum and consequently before I found an editor and hence before I ever program my own.
I only fiddled around with my editor in the last three games out of the total 38 times I finished this game.

Okies I NOT trying to pick a fight but we all have our pace in games, some people played so many rpg from their youth or so much computers they work out situations faster. Also counts the time you can input into a game IE work, kids, telly etc.

I think She/he/it meant that people who did cheat from the start, ones who go to spoiler sites to work out how to walk, talk and how to get a quest item with out having to think for them selves. Or the ones who try look on a net for a hack to get unltimate armor then they would say they finnish the game less then 1 day. (Please note to those people out there i did say "people who did cheat from the start" and not those who needed a little help getting past those difficult parts)

38 times...wow i only played 2 times and the 3rd time was goofing off lmao.

every one now lets all have a fully clothed, hands where we can see them, had a shower previous, group hug <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Sorry DAD but I was not refering to you. Everyone has his way to play the game. Some cheat, some don´t, some cheat afterwards just to find out some more things about the game. Everything is ok. A game is made for us just to have fun. But fun is different to everyone. My way is the first time not to cheat in order to enjoy the whole thing. And sometimes I need help which is welcome.

And it is Se parakalo. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

But I am not your agapi sou. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

What can I say! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
My Greek is a bit rusty. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Add to that I was trying to be friendly. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" />
I just remembered that I enjoyed every minute I spent in Athens and Macedonia.
I also admit to be in love with Greek food, and since you claim to be such an expert cook then definitely agapi mou. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
I also enjoyed the Greek folkloric dances and the way they swung the knotted handkerchief.
I stayed in hotel ABC in Thessalonica (Thessaloniki); I also visited Khalkidhiki beaches.
The hotel was right in the roundabout of the industrial fair I wanted to attend.
They are all wonderful memories so forgive my intrusion. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
Next to the hotel was an arcade game shop owned by Mekhallis but that was back in 1983, and when I paid him a visit in 1994 he had already moved his shop to the seaside for more tourist action around the year rather than the fair-time only. He also had billiard tables, which I enjoyed for hours. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Most probably, it is my Greek face that made my stay very easy and everyone was speaking Greek to me as if I was a local. LOL.
So you know how to make Tiropita, Spanakopita peloponnisos, Aginares me anitho, Taramosalata, Fassoulatha, Tomates yemistes, Briami, Oktapothi toursi, Pastitso, Keftethes, Melitzanes moussaka, ... Oh my Gaaad! It is all coming back and my saliva started running. There is nothing better than Greek Food all around the globe.
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

My best regards from Japan. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Glad you had a nice time in my country.

I can sure make tiropita and all the others but I really dont know how to make peloponisos (...) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

It is a place not a food. (...) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

It is that place on the map that looks like a hand with fingers... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Anyway agapi mou is very personal in Greek. It is the same like «my love».

Try filenada mou or fili mou. It means my friend (sex female).
File mou. It means my friend too (sex male).

Just to be a bit in topic (at least a try) Armor in Greek is panoplia...

Lots of greedings in Japan. I wish I could visit some day. I would buy all the manga... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Still off topic, and you are correct because as far as I remember spanakopita Peloponnisos are spinach rolls with the style of the Peloponnese people. It has onions, olive oil, parsley, dill, nutmeg, black pepper and pastry as far as I remember ... AND IT IS delicious. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I think cheating is ok when a/ you have already completed the game and therefore it wont interfere with your newness enjoyment of the game and b/ when it cannot affect anyone else. Otherwise cheat away, It can mean jumping whole segments of boredom to get to the fun bits..and can add an extra little something... like what can my survivor do at startup with a set of 420 armour mithril..
