Guys! Help! At the moment my character is being submitted to repeated spikings in the feet and then death. Over and over again, because I keep reloading it. I managed to get rid of Josie the first time without *too* much trouble ... but now she's back in the Black Ring dungeon, ridiculously hard and even meaner.

How on earth do I get rid of her? Is there any kind fo trick to it?
Have you got a weapon with frost? They're very useful or if you haven't you could use the spell, also if you're a warrior you could fade from sight and use your spin attack when your near her, but DO NOT use it technally *against* her just near her otherwise you could become visable again.

Search the forum for techniques on defeating Josephine. There are various approaches depending on what character class you are playing. If you attack her right away before she is able to complete the death knight summoning it is an easy fight. She will keep trying to re-summon every time she is interrupted, and never get to Blind or Hellspikes. Scorpions or Curse a couple times then Freeze / Elemental Strike, etc. or Blind / Hellspikes can be effective.

Thanks everyone! I'll try to find something with frost ability on it ... or is there some kind of cheat to gian lots of spellbooks on hell spikes or frost itself? Hmmm ... cheers everyone
Not sure which class you are
If you are a fighter get a pile of stamina potions and shadow potions
walk up to the 'lady' start using that swipe near her (don't target her) that should deal damage without removing the protection of the shadow potion.

If you are a survivor release scorpion after scorpion

If you are a wizard, spam curse on her, then freeze, then the best damage you can do.

[edit]
Forgot, try to get as much spiritual resistance as possible 250+ or so.
That should protect you against her blinding you.
[/edit]

blind her, then she cant see you and cant cast spells at you.
She does the same so...

frost frost and more frost

Actually I defeated her as a mage by using hell spikes on her and on her deathknight. I had lvl 5 spellshield and lvl 5 Magic Shield which protected me a bit for the occasional times she was able to cast hell spikes on my poor self. My deathknight helped also to keep her deathknight busy. In the wastelands I actually only used lvl 5 hellspikes to dispose of the more difficult buggers. Great spell it is, hmmm, hmmm.
Scorpion Traps work beautifully on her. Send three scorpions after her and that will be so much for her she will concentrate on them and you can take care
of her knight. Hopefully you can cast one of your own to help the situation.
This is how I defeated her.
Got in close with my Holy Sword...which has Frost, Stun and Poison. Bye-bye, Josie.

Whee, I've found out that I have two weapons available with level 2 frost on them, one is the Axe of a Hundred Crusades and the other is the Holy Sword which I can get hold of easily cause Kroxy still has it from when I sold it to him

Ahhh ... blind ... that's what the **** is using on me so that I can't see her, eh? Grrr. I've killed everything in the place and there's no way I can gain enough experience to level up again. ACK. Another thing - does being attacked with lots of spiritual attacks help you build up spiritual resistance?

By the way ... how do you use those pag-joph and yit-zand etc crystal ball thingies? Cause I've got a heck of a lot of them and, well, I'd like them to be useful cause Kroxy doesn't have enough money for even one. I've got level 1 enchant weapon but that's it. I've tried dropping the crystals onto my equipment (yes, the ones that have charm quality) but no dice.

I'll post a big list of my stats and weapon stats soon ... you guys are being absolutely great, thanks

You have to klik on the item you want to charm firt then you will see the charm holes drop the chars in them.

Search the forum for strategies for defeating Josephine. I don't think being attacked raises your resistances.

Left click on an equipped item with a charm quality. A charm pane will open up with one open slot (since you have level 1 of Enchant Weapon) and the rest of the charm quality number of slots (if any) closed. Drag and drop a charm into the pane.
If you want to cheat, you can open multiple charm panes, and drop a charm into each (if the list of charms in the description of the equipment goes off-screen, it can crash the game, though). I'd advise against this since it could make the game too easy, but the end of the game is already too easy (with the possible exception of one fight).

Thanks a lot guys! I'm going to go charm everything I've got and then report back

I'm not sure about the resistances ... I went into Iona's dungeon with practically no fire resistance, got attacked by lods of those steel fire-archers and came out with loads of resistance ... eh maybe I just picked up an item with resistance

Byebye and happy gaming!
