In the inventory screen how about easily identifying the character's class, Fighter, Witch, etc., by script below, above or to the side of it's avatar. By easily identifying class, it makes it easier for the leader/observer to compartmentalise the companions skills without referring to attributes and talents.

The game is classless and you are only managing 3 other chars at the same time, all of which have very distinctive names.

All the class really does is determine the equipment you start out with at level 1. You can (or at least you will be able to) change everything else about them.

Perhaps they should rename it into something like 'battle style', weapon load or something like that. Causes missunderstandings again and again, because Divinity is pretty different in this part from usual games.

Oops! I stand corrected. You guys are so right. The ability of each character to change weapons prohibits a class distinction. My bad.
