Hey there,
one thing I really liked in the older Infinity Engine games was to give my characters custom voice sets, since they are an excellent way to customize and identify with your character. Adding new hair styles or faces to the game is kinda pointless, when your character sounds like the most generic <enter race here> being on Faerun, respectively when you're not content HOW your alter ego actually sounds like. Point speaking, the current EA voice sets don't allow much leeway for certain types of characters (evil wizard, Seductress, and so on...), and while I believe that there will be more sets at the release, it'd be nice to have an extra option to add more to the table. Considering that the MC has no voiced lines in dialogues, and already has sound bits to acknowledge certain commands, a feature like that shouldn't be that hard to implement. Just like in the older games, an option to drag and drop sound sets (a set of .wav, mp3 files) into folders to chose from would be great.

+1 Yes please! It makes such a difference if there are a variety one liners for characterization. In the old games I think I had a different character for each set of barks over as many playthroughs and a few custom with snippets taken from films. Custom Portraits, Custom Colors, Custom Sound all worked together. Creating 3d portraits models to offer a similar visual customization seems like it may be pretty involved right now, but Custom Colors and Sound might be more straightforward and would add a lot to the experience.

I would give a soul to Raphael (not mine tho, but lets not be detailist) ... for option to have my Dwarf sound like the most generic Dwarf on Faerun.

I wanna bump this topic and once again request a feature to have custom voice support for Baldur's Gate 3.
As you may have noticed, the voice options for your main character in the full game are absolutely generic and destroy any form of immersion if you play anything else than a 08/15 adventurer.

Orcs having a gruff voice? Not in this game.
Necromancers sounding evil? Not possible.

What is even the point of having such a complex character creator if the immersion gets completely broken as soon as your character starts talking?

+1 to this. More difference in penis/vag options than unique male voice differences. Pathetic.

There seem to be two topics here.

First, there's the critique of the male voices, which is already covered in a separate thread here: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=875041. Let's use that one for general discussion of the male custom voices.

Second, there's the specific suggestion that we are able to add our own voice sets, which I will leave this thread open for.

Also, unnecessary bringing up of custom genital options is unnecessary. Can we not? If people mention penis and vulva choices every time there's some other feature they want more options for these forums will be covered in genitalia, and I think most of us don't want that

It's not unnecessary when it's the truth. I apologize you can't handle genitalia topic being brought up all the time when it is in fact a GREAT comparison especially when you get to have sex with a bear. I didn't make this game throw sex in your face and completely forgot that different fantasy races probably need better voice options, the Larian team did.
