After stepping away for about a year, the game still has potential. Still some bugs to be worked out. I didn't encounter anything that wasn't already in a discussion here somewhere.
The new content was interesting, re: Grymforge.
I still can't quantify why it doesn't feel like a BG game. That isn't a bad thing per se, but I still say call it something else. Maybe I'll feel different once everything is all there. But then I never really liked the Mind Flayers thread from BG2.
Group movement is still ridiculous plus the "chain-link" when I want to move my party members individually.
The d20 rolls animation was cool at first, but got old and dragged out after the first few times. Surely there is a wa for it to sill be cool, but be faster.
The "Push" is getting really old. It was sort of an interesting spice when I first played the game. Becoming such a default tactic and being pushed by even little goblins is tiring. It has moved into meat and potatoes.
I'll probably play one more round and put it away again for a year.
Still find Witcher a better experience overall, but I have no doubt I'll buy and play BG3 when finished.
