One of the most annoying things that my boyfriend and I have encountered is when one of us is dragged into a scene that the other should be receiving, or when one person walks up and triggers a scene that makes more sense for the other to get, examples being when one of us has Astarion but the other is getting his scenes without ever having him under their control.

My Suggestion is to make a simple conversation pass option, where you can swap the conversation from one player to another. It could perhaps even be a simple final option. This could allow for not only a fix to accidental scene triggers but also allow for more player engagement than just voting on an option, as now everyone could possibly partake in the conversation and be apart of it, rather than just simply standing dead eyed behind the person talking without ever doing anything.

We have also suggested previously, and I REALLY want this, the ability to change characters so that if Wyll, for example, has better persuasion, he can take the lead when the time comes to persuade someone, or Gale could be switched in if he has better Arcana, or whatever. There should naturally be times when this is restricted, but more often than not you should be able to switch characters during dialogues.

Example: "Is that you Gimblebock?"

Rogue with +5 Deception switches in. "Gimblebock is hurt. Quick. Open the door.". Instead of Lae'zel who you had leading with her -1.

Yup. Having a “party conversation” in this game would be better for both single and multiplayer experience.

Definitely agree with this.

I mean, I believe I understand why Larian is not allowing it currently as it could be related to a design philosophy. "You're not supposed to be in control of your companions"-sorta situation, but that logic is already flawed as we can control them as we like outside of conversations (like have Astarion bathing his feet in a flowing river for all eternity). Besides, this design only works well if your companions actively participate in the conversation as NPCs, like they do in DA:O, WotR or even in PoE. In Larian's games, the companions are *usually* quiet unless it is something very specific for their own character story with most commentary happening AFTER the conversation. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule, but in general they are mostly silent giving their "approve" or "disapprove" silently from afar.

Either way - I hope to see more possibilities when it comes to companions participating in the conversation in general - I don't really mind if it is as NPC commentary, or by letting us take control and having them "interrupt" the conversation to say their part.

Getting slightly off-topic from "multiplayer conversation", but I wish companions would interject in dialogue more often. It's a D&D rpg; I want to feel like I'm adventuring with a party of defined characters even when playing solo. This is especially bad during cinematic dialogues where I can clearly see my party members just standing there being silent :\ Being able to swap to different companions during dialogue would slightly help with this issue, depending on how much dialogue options and responses change based on their character talking, but the best option would be more interruptions by companions and the ability to choose who responds to dialogue prompts.
