Searching the Terms 'GOG Download' and "GOG PATCH" did not yield any relevant results, so I'm coming here to cross-post (and complain) about the patching process on GOG.

Patch 7 is supposedly 32GB patch, but for GOG users its a whopping 84.43GB.

Since Steam has their shit together, I'm asking you guys to either optimize your end, or (since I assume the issue lies with GOG), push GOG for better patching process. Because this is ridiculous.

Here are some relevant complaints:

Now, I don't expect you guys to build patching into your custom launcher, as is typical these days, but if it means a smoother patching process for everyone, I'm all for it. (Doing it this way I do understand would put the onus on your guys though, so I understand not doing it). All I'm asking is for you guys to apply some of that barbarian strength onto GOG, knock them around a bit till they get it right.

I can't remember exaclty, but I'm quuiiiite sure my steam update was also ridiculously large, as if it redownloaded the whole game, which is actually what happened I think.
I checked the hard drive afterwards, and it only got heavier by about 30 GB, but that was after the patch was installed, and I distinctly remember the update saying it was like 80 GB.

So I don't think this was GOG's fault.
