Halsin's body would be perfect as a barbarian. Yes, I would not be surprised if Halsin's model is a sneak peek for more muscular player character options.

Yes. More body types. Please. Skinny, medium, muscular, and chubby would be so nice.

The lack of body types really took the wind out of the sails for this patch. It's hard to not laugh at the frail barbarian, just like it's hard to take the barbarian trailer seriously.
People keep saying that the body types are coming. Great, but they're not here yet. And meanwhile, the barbarian looks ridiculous.
It's not like people were screaming for this patch release. If the new body types weren't ready why not just wait a bit to release until they were? If the half-orc wasn't ready why not wait a bit until they were? Again, nobody was screaming to rush this patch out.

A skinny barbarian is fine though - but if you build a 18 STR character they do need to look buff for sure. You could make a Dex based berserker or warrior in which case skinny is perfect Maybe make a "muscle" slider (gender neutral) based on your Strength. As you put points into STR your character becomes more muscular (more buff w/e).

Is a skinny Dwarf just a halfling? You can have a fat dwarf, but a bodybuilder dwarf is basically what the dwarf is now. Also, a bodybuilder Halfling with a beard will just look like dwarf. A bodybuilding elf with a helmet will look like a human. So are they making more options or fewer options?

Yeah this is definitely a big issue for me as well but I am encouraged by the new Karlach datamined body and Halsin. I am hoping, realy, really hoping these are going to be available for players rather than just one very specific NPC. Anyway if these two bodies are available for players I think they will do very nicely for a barbarian physic. Karlach - Female Body Muscular Halsin - Male Body Muscular

I’m seeing a lot more posts about bugs and crashes this time around too, some pretty obvious and severe. I wonder what the rush was to get this out?

More than a muscular body type I'm missing armor variety. For everyone but especially Barbarians.
When you put the Barbarian in that same Scale Mail (+1), he looks like everyone else who wears armor. Or in Lae'zel's Half Plate which is more like a meme now, stealing it without her minding at all. She should start with a Githyanki Scale Mail level armor just for that reason alone.
We need Medium Armor (and Light for others) that doesn't cover everything and looks more rough and utilitarian than the polished decorated fashion armor we have. Like a sleeveless version of Aradin's Breastplate. Why don't we have Breastplate available at all?

It would be nice to have more different armors ... But hells im praying to everything that is holy so nobody from larian gets that horrible idea that Armors should altern their own look based on who wears them. :-/
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

A wizard uses Magic and it is a feat of the mind while a Barbarian uses strength not flabby skin!

So, all in favor of Halsin size fighters and barbarians, but quick question, do you want the physique select-able at character creation, or automatic if your Str and Con totaled exceeds say 30?

I actually liked the skinny barbarian. Gave me "pissed off old man" vibes. Sure, he's not built like a steakhouse like when he was younger. But you're about to get punched by 50 years of hard working and drunken bar room brawls.
That said I agree that we obviously need body type options. I wanna be a buff druid like Halsin.

It would have to be an option you could select, in my opinion. I love the idea of tying body type to stats. I would much rather play that way, but I don't think it's likely to get any traction. We live in a world where people have mixed feelings about health and body shape. I don't think Larian wants to tackle the controversy of what a healthy (high Con) body looks like.

Someone with a strength score of 8 shouldn't look like a beefcake, even if their constitution score is on the higher end.

I feel like making it something you could choose freely is fine. I mean, if you as a player think it's ridiculous for a str 8 wizard to be buff, then you can just choose not to make them buff. And then people who enjoy making ridiculous characters can do that in their own time.

I dont see a problem of being a fit Wizard to be honest......why not. It is being a skinny Barb that is kinda impossible......unless you wanna throw just rabbits and squirrels.
