I really think, not right now, but definitely down the line, they should add some favorite races, subclasses, and feats from the main expansions to the Player's Handbook. Some of these options are just too good to pass up and some have become basically the default and most fun options for many players, especially when it comes to multiclassing.
Examples being:
Aasimar, Goliath, Kobold, Githzerai (We already have Yanki so adding their sister race shouldn't be too hard) Oath of Vengeance Paladin, Hexblade and Celestial Warlock, Swashbuckler Rogue, Glamour Bard Theres way too many good feats to really give an example
Maybe they could even do a poll to decide what to add from the extended material. I know that even if they do not adapt these, they have already and will continue to be modded in but it would be nice to have them as base options as well.

(We already have Yanki so adding their sister race shouldn't be too hard) What makes you so sure about that? After all, every interaction with Yanki would be "DIE B**CH!" xD
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

Considering Githzerai are the more peaceful of the two, basically being the Space Monks of the DnD universe, the worse that would happen is that Yanki would treat Zerai the same way everyone not racially evil treats Drow, especially Lolthsworn. It would lead to some interesting dialogue with Lae'zel, but for customization it would be just a slight color change, a +2 to Wisdom over Strength, 2 different racial spells, and advantage to charm and frightened. They've already shown the impact of racial choice isn't that major, so if people are not Immediately attacking Drow, Yanki won't immediately attack Zerai.

I agree, if they could add Githyanki from non-PHB, they could definitely add other features as well even to the base game. For example, feats like Metamagic Adept, Transmuted / Seeking Spell Metamagic options, additional subclasses like Hexblade and Bladesinger, etc. I mean, they are definitely not contradicting even the setting in which BG3 is made. For example, Larian could easily make Wyll a Hexblade Warlock to match his weapon proficiency / experience which was shown in certain cutscenes. Mentioned Metamagic feats and options are just another way to twist spells, so don't break the setting either.

While I would like the favourite player options from newer rules expansion to be added, Larian have always been very clear about what content they wish to have in the game, and content from the new sourcebooks wasn't planned.
Also, creating spells, subclasses and races is fully within the power of modders. I would recommend relying on mods when it comes to content that the developers didn't promise.

The only sad thing about modding is missing reactivity. You won't get those special little nods to your race, which is very fun to have come into play, unless the Modder goes through the extensive effort to add it in. I know we are still waiting on several phb options, but definitely after those are done, at least a race poll would be nice to do, or maybe they could even do DLCs, free or paid, for these extensions. More player options is never a bad thing, and I know a lot of Critical Role fans especially would pay for a Goliath and Goblin race DLC.
