I installed the game & everything was going good till it had to decompress the sound.rar file. An error came up saying "CRC Error" & I clicked the okay button & it finished installing. I didn't think anything of it at the time till I started playing the game. The 2 logo screens have sound & the intro has sound & all that but when the game starts there is no sound or music & you can't hear any of the people talking except for the very fist guy you come across & your guy makes noises that is all. Now I can play the game like this if I have to I guess but it kinda makes everything lame. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling & it still wont do it. & I tried downloading WinRAR & doing it myself but it still wouldn't open the sound.rar file. Anyone know how I could fix this?

Try copying the rar file to the hard drive and extracting from there. See if Winrar can 'fix' the archive. Do you have a different optical drive you can try? Did you check the CD for finger prints, scratches, etc?

I copied the file & it still wouldn't open from the hard drive. I tried to fix it & it said that it came to an unexpected end & when I tried to open what was there it gave me the same message as always. I already tried a different optical drive. There are no finger prints & yes there are a few scratches but I've seen a game CDs with a whole lot worse that have worked just fine.

Here´s my suggestion: i don´t know exactly how the installer package is mounted on installation CD´s, but if this a RAR archive, you could try that feature of the "recovery record" that comes with WINRAR. The problem is to find someone here who can generate this recovery record from the sounds.rar archive and send to you, or post this file in this forum.

Considering the technical aspects (how this thing works), this file shouldn´t be too big, it depends only on the damage range in sounds.rar file.

I would be glad to give a try and send this to you, but i don´t own the game...

Stay tunned!
