Hello, I've just completed another playthrough with the new patch, and wanted to share something I noticed. This was one of my first playthroughs where I chose to play 'good', so I helped the Tieflings, helped the deep gnomes in Grymforge, etc.
The thing that struck me the most was that interesting and likable camp followers seem completely absent when playing evil, while you get Halsin and Barcus Wroot eventually when playing good - two followers who have very interesting things to say, and not only that, they also have their own quests that you can help out with. Where are similar companions for the evil route? Will there be any? I really hope so, because if not, this just contributes to the feeling I got that evil playthroughs just feel so much more... empty. Right now it seems as if you literally have less stories to explore overall, which is a shame.
Please add camp followers for us morally questionable players, who nonetheless like to make new (evil) friends who we can have interesting conversations with.

I'm usually too nice to play evil characters, but I do have hopes to play one of my lawful evil necromancers in this game and would also love to see this kind of addition!

I think they are hitting the nail sofar story wise. They show 'evil' to be based on perspective really - I played a Drow who didn't care one bit about the druids or the tieflings, so I ended up siding with the goblins, because it made my life easier and afterwards I went and assassinated the leaders anyway (I wanted their gold). I got to loot both camps and ventured forth after having laid the entire area to waste. None of my party members (Asterion, Shadowheart, Wryll) seemed to object too massively (Wryll even happily participated in the slaughter of the tieflings he so badly wanted to protect).
Afterwards we discussed his demon deals and I encouraged his selfishness!
It was a glorious playthrough - although I did do some good (killed Gnolls, slaughtered the Giths, helped the wood elf out of the burning building - she's rich and powerful so longterm gain to be had).
Point being, the game is really good at making "morally grey" and "cruel logic" an actual thing. I love it.
Although out of all my playthroughs only one was "evil" - and I wouldn't say evil per say, the tieflings were just in the way and to be honest they started being evil themselves when they defiled the Druid grove, so not like they are innocent

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

As far as I know, such characters aren't available for evil playthroughs at the moment, which is a shame, and which was the point I was trying to make.

Yeah, that's one area where the disparity in content between playing evil and playing good is really obvious. Even Volo and the pets are really 'good' camp followers-Volo threatens to tell the world of your misdeeds and the dog tells you that he hopes the goblins 'aren't your friends' if you have speak with animals (though I don't recall if either of them leave afterwards) It's not as though the game is hurting for interesting evil characters though-Minthara is the obvious counterpart to Halsin and it's already kinda BS for people who romanced her that it looks like they won't see her again until the end of Act I....but the Grymforge update added yet *another* camp follower exclusive to good players, and it's starting to look like evil content is just getting sidelined. I only hope that is only for the time being and it'll get focused on later down the line in Early Access and the current state is not indicative of what evil players are going to be experiencing for the full length of the game upon release.
