Divinity Original Sin 2 has a laughably small range of customization options when making your character. Baldurs Gate 3 is better but that isn't saying much in comparison. From what I gathered the interesting looking characters are accomplished only through modding the game. I know they're still tripping over themselves trying to fix the game to fit into the 5e rulebook and focusing their efforts elsewhere but this should all be elementary for a modern day RPG.
Surface-level cosmetics don't typically beget role-playing, actually giving the players a unique role incentivizes role-playing.
Is there confirmation on sliders for the faces? Is the engine even capable of that?
What about body types? Does everyone in Faerun have a gym membership?
What about the races? Did Larian say anything on the additions of Aarakocra, Goliaths, Tabaxi, Tortle, Goblins, Hobgoblins, Firbolgs, Aasimar, Fey'ri,...? Why is the Gith race missing a subrace?
What about the deities? So many are missing... why is the option to choose one available only to the cleric class? Why does the choice feel like it doesn't matter?
Will we be able to choose our starting equipment? What about the color of the clothes and armour? Will there be an option to dye our equipment down the road?
What about character backgrounds? Will we be able to choose a point of origin? eg. I don't want my character to be a Baldurian but I have no choice in the matter.
Will there be classes/subclasses that are not from the Players Handbook? muh Artificer

Searching the internet didn't give me any answers on these questions so I thought to come to the forums,
surely there would be some official FAQ thread or something of the kind here. Nothing here either.
So I turn to you people.
Thank you for your answers in advance.
