I'm not sure if that is the correct term for that blasted lake or swamp east of the wastelands.

I am playing as a thief. I have the spell from the dragon and leveled it up to level 2. My magic pts are 1112 so I should have plenty to cast the invisibility spell and still get across that lake. But I cannot seem to get more than 10-12 seconds across the lake and boom...dead with no magic points left...just like that. What the heck am I doing wrong? I am not getting hit by any monsters, just up and aaaaaaaaaah in a pool of blood.

Level one should be enough to get across. Try standing pretty much due west of the flag on the map indicating the Black Ring dungeon, then cast the spell and head east. If that doesn't work, toss an ancient pyramid over to the island (drag, shift, move the screen focus over and drop).

I have tried using the teleporter pyramid. I can get so far and then I die. I have dropped the pyramid and used it to teleport out of the swamp. When I teleport back, I die just as quickly. My magic does not run out slowly. It runs out all at once. Nothing attacks me, I don't become visible. Is there a bug here????

As Raze said, stand west of the red flag, turn into a ghost, and head west. At level 2 ghost, I stayed a ghost for plenty of time to pass over the lake before turning human again. In fact, I had to stand around and wait to turn back to human. Make sure you are clear of the water. Also, your mana comes back after you turn human again and you also get use of your skills again. As soon as I turned human, I paused the game and selected my active skill.

The problem is not that I'm not staying a ghost long enough to pass over the lake. The problem is that I die (as a ghost) after about 10 seconds. My magic runs down slowly (as it should) for about ten seconds. My blue bar shows I have plenty of magic left, but then all of a sudden my blue bar turns empty and I'm dead.

I've started due west of the flag everytime and the same thing happens everytime I try it. Has anyone else played this game as the female thief and made it across the lake with no problem? It's almost as if there is a bug or glitch.

I have tried over and over for several hours and don't even get in sight of the land. Very frustrating!!!

Don't drop and use the ancient pyramid. Throw one across the swamp so it lands on the island; stand on the west side of the swamp, click and drag the pyramid, hold the shift key down, bump the screen focus east with your mouse, drop the pyramid on the island (this may take a couple tries depending on your sight range), and teleport past the swamp.

Thanks guys for all your help! It turns out that the invisibility skill is not the same as the turn into a spirit skill. (Five upside the head for me.) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> Once I turned into a spirit, I walked on water (literally). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />

Too many skills to keep track of for my middle-aged brain.
